I very much doubt that the Staveley led consortium would have entered into the due diligence phase of this negotiation with all the work that involves, if they could not make a bid somewhere in the region of what the owner was asking.
Staveley is a very savvy business woman and would not have started what she could not finish.
Until Ashley packs his SD carrier bag and leaves it’s never done and dusted, but this is hopefully the beginning of the end, and the start of something better.

Are any of you nervous about this?

Obviously you've all wanted Ashley out for a long time but are any of you concerned about jumping into the unknown so to speak?

 

Rightly or wrongly I’m more nervous of something going wrong and this not happening. We don’t have an exciting future with Ashley.

 

No get shot of the parasite and I'll take my chances with new owners.

 

3 or 4 years ago I probably would have been but I (like many others now) have had enough...a lot of people will have reached that point a while ago. Despite having Rafa in charge I can only see him leaving if the fat one remains in charge any longer. You only have to look at what has happened with spurs in that time to see what can happen when the right things are in place at your club and for around the same length of time Ashley has been everything wrong with it. We’re getting somewhere finally with the squad and that is down to Rafa and his back room staff, wholesale changes above his head are needed now to push us on and start to build a decent squad and some stability.
I for one can’t wait to see the day all of Ashley’s tatty sports direct signs are ripped down and be he ****s off into the sunset with them tucked under his arm!
