Watched a bit of the Fiorentina game
a few nights ago and Alonso looked quality. Am I right in thinking he's in last year of contract?

It's obvious to everyone that we need 3 players to have any chance of staying up.

Everyone also knows which 3 positions.

We can all see this so if Ellis is serious about staying up we need these 3 players.

I think £30 million is nearer the amount needed.

My fear is that we will not be able to get the players needed, they will not want to come. We will probably end up with the likes of Onouha or Hutton who are a similar quality to what we already have.

One thing we have got going for us is that anyone decent who joins us will get regular games. Signing for a better side could mean lots of bench time but with us, the bar is so low. That might give us an edge when trying to attract players.

Just as an aside, I hope M'Vila's daft penalty has put of some other clubs because he would be a magnificent signing if we could get him signed permanently.

They don't expect him to be out until Spring.

I did not laugh.

 

Daffs can take up to 5 years to bloom from seed. Change seeds to a bulb and the joke works.

Two full backs, have to be your priority.

Debuchy and Enrique, both out of favour at Arsenal and Liverpool respectively. Can you loan them?

Would probably get Newcastle's backs up as well a bit, so added bonus.

 

Debuchy would be a great shout as I can't see him being happy sat on the bench (or not even making the bench) at Arsenal. When he left us he was a France international but if he can't get games it is going to jeopardise him even making the squad for the Euros next year.

Enrique is more of a quandary. He was rubbish for us for a while then got the knack of English football and was ace for one or two seasons but has seemingly regressed since leaving. Not getting into the Arsenal defence is excusable, not getting into the Liverpool defence is a worry.
