I can't see Button having the desire to do another full season. He's made his peace with leaving F1. Some late silly-season manoeuvring would be fun though if Alonso moves. Mclaren would want experience alongside Vandoorne.
Bernie Ecclestone has confirmed plans are in place to resurrect the French Grand Prix.
For the first time in over a decade, a Grand Prix is set to return to France in 2008, with the race to be held at Circuit Paul Ricard, a facility owned by Ecclestone.
"Yes, I think it will happen," Ecclestone told Reuters. "More or less sort of the German date, probably."
Imho, Hamilton will stay for next year. However, if the cars fail to excite him, I can see him leaving F1 for good. Sometimes this season he has simply appeared bored, he has now finally won in Brazil & Equalled his hero's tally of wdc, what else is there left for him to achieve? So though it's probably most likely Pascal who'll be stepping in at Merc, do we think there's a chance it could be Vettel? That would be a monsterous lineup.
I'd love to see Ricciardo too, but boy would it be tasty to see Verstappen in there? (What's his current contract look like?)
So. Are Merc going to play safe or play risky? Or could we see Hamilton move on and have a complete fresh lineup? Ouside bet, but after today, who knows!

The two logical choices are Wehrlein or Bottas. Sadly neither of them really deserve it.
Bottas? Naaaah! Surely.
I think Hamilton is hungry for more. He was complacent at the end of last year and the start of this season and he let his guard down. I think losing this might have reignited the fire. You could see it in the latter half of the season that he was ready to work for it again.
Easy to get out of his Williams contract. fairly experienced, managed by Toto Wolff.
Would be exceptionally dull though. Doesn't have the potential of Pascal, so would be a pretty obvious #2.
French GP return confirmed.
Looks like it's on the full Paul Ricard circuit that includes the old loop which F1 stopped using after Elio de Angelis accident.
I remember that track being really fast. Presumably they've added a bunch of stupid crap to slow it down.
Is that the runoff that's designed to punish those running wide by wrecking their tyres?
