If they couldn't possibly know how good the owners are then they shouldn't have smugly boasted that they would be able to know, and turned away other bidders on that basis leaving the whole club in limbo. Yet again it just shows they're dishonest as ****. It was quite obvious the whole good home thing was bullshit from day one anyway.
I can't say I'm sorry the sale fell through I didn't fancy the buyers in the first place. I think they wanted the club for the money it could generate and not for he club its self, although perhaps that's the reason for most club owners. (I'm too trusting in my old age.)

If the Chinese failed the Fit and Proper test then i am happy they will not be getting the Club, the last thing we need is to go from one nightmare into another that could bring a new set of problems to the club and supporters, what we need is stability now after all of the problems we have had to deal with.

If that means going through test after test till we get someone who is suitable then for me they can do as many tests as they want as long as we get some good owners in the door.

I agree but I think you'll be lucky to find anyone who isn't buying it as a cash cow. People don't often spend £100m on philanthropy unless they are emotionally invested.

They are backing out because they can't get the stadium at the price they thought they could. Chinese have lost a massive amount of money on a deposit they put down.

And along comes another "in the know" poster. So it's nothing to do with the FA and the fit and proper owners test then? you're going against the flow of opinion there. One would have thought before they put a massive amount of money on a non-refundable deposit that they would have sorted all the details about the stadium, some said on here that they didn't even speak to the council.

If the stadium is to cost more than they thought , is that difference greater or smaller than the deposit they are losing ?
You'd think they would have already sorted it out if it's a dealbreaker .

Bigelow was clued up on the recent transfers, bang on the money too - it sounds feasible, it'll be interesting to see how near the mark he is when/if the full story comes out.

perhaps the plan is to just keep getting consortia to put down deposits, trouser the cash if it falls through and eventually the club might be actually debt free?!

but surley when this amount of money is involved all prices and deals are agreed before anyone signs anything or any money exchanges hands. I cant imagine anyone doing a deal of this size on what they think will happen or what they think they'll pay

Or am i been thick?

I'd have thought so, even if it's illegal.

The club want reassurances that planning permission will be given as the dome pitch would cost an additional £850,000. If the application is rejected the club insist “the council should give 18 month rate relief for the KC Stadium and Airco Arena or £425,000 compensation towards the costs“.

Why is it that as soon as another poster says it happened, it's fine but when Big said it it was bollocks?

I've got serious reservations about the claim it was to do with the sale of the stadium, but Bigelow's been one of the most accurate with inside knowledge so far.

I heard it from another source that this was the case (the council are asking well above the market value for it), in addition to a 3rd member of the consortium failing the fit and proper persons test. The brother and sister passed.

I'm amazed there arent more posts about this post.
So have the council lied and backtracked? Surley not.
Where has the money they lost gone?

Any info greatly appreciated Big.

I refuse to believe the council are anything other than victims in any of this.

They always put the people of Hull first, and not their own greedy ambitions.

Obviously sounds like the Chinese wanted the stadium for **** all.

We're well rid.
