All a possibility and if so...well two roads we all give up and accept a lower standard of living. Or we innovate, politically, socially and economically.

Politically they've taken a punch in the face...now it's happened take advantage and keep the pressure on.

Socially...the global genie is out of the bottle...we've all got used to seeing ourselves in terms of part of the world...I don't see a retreat back to some weird North Korean style closed state.

Economically? Well that's the painful one. But we always boast we are leaders in research etc ..we will have to be now..and maybe a path away from this nonsense of relying on the financial services industry...I mean they've caused all recent pain....even last night.

we can boast all we like but the harsh reality is that we have one of the lowest % of GDP invested in R&D of any country they have records for.

Listen folks, I know a lot of us feel the same about the tragedy of this vote. But I actually genuinely hope that we're wrong about the effects of this result and the Out campaign are right. I'd happily admit we were wrong if it means saving the economy, my family's future and the jobs of thousands who work for businesses that rely on the EU.

I would be glad to be wrong and at this moment now that's all I'm hoping and praying for. I won't get any satisfaction from seeing myself proved right. That argument was for before the election.
Undoubtedly this^
I have no desire to see the country go down the pan just so I can say "told you so". I do fear the worst, but like you I hope to be proven wrong, though I wonder if the Leavers will hold their hands up and apologise if it does all go pear-shaped?
I still think there are things to do though, we could stop it getting worse by helping ensure that lunatics like Farage and Johnson get no more power than they already have.

lol

What I'd like is for every Leave politician's bank details to be published, no chance they're putting their money where their mouth is in the UK

It's why I think it's vital that Labour remove Corbyn now. Likelihood is that Johnson will be next Tory leader...Although the Tories have a history of rejecting the Kingslayer....

There needs to be a viable Labour party listening to its voters so the Tories can rejected at the next election which I think will be sooner than 2020. Corbyn is a London centric that only appeals outside to uni students..he's a protestor not a leader.

I was thinking more of the voters than the politicians. They'll just blame everyone else, same as they always do.

<laugh><laugh><laugh><laugh><laugh><laugh><laugh>

well he wanted to leave EU so he is quite happy.
Corbyn as leader of Labour is just a death wish for their electoral chances

Since he wanted to leave hopefully he has ideas beyond how much money it's going to make his mates in the next few years, before all packing to be diplomats and consultants in other countries

If it all goes pear shaped after Brexit then the Tories will get the blame as they were in power when we had the referendum. To take advantage Labour need a stronger and more appealing leader than Corbyn whose ideals are rooted in the 60/70's and the world has moved on.

The abuse I've seen coming from "remain" voters is a disgrace.

The votings finished and the decision cast. Respect it and move on!
I'm not condoning abuse, but this isn't the EL final we're talking about. We say "Ah well, that's over - what shall we think of next?
Sorry, nah.

I'm not saying you can't discuss it, I'm saying the abuse is uncalled for.

WTF is moaning going to achieve?

I don't know who you're referring to, but you said "move on" which in my world means "forget it now because it's done and dusted".
The reality is it's only just begun, and there'll probably be plenty of moaning going on, and it might well be justified. If you're not sufficiently engaged to contribute then fine, but plenty of others are.

"Move on" from who voted for what.

And I wasn't referring to anyone on here.

If you can't contribute without being abusive then don't bother.
