'Last time' wasn't the last time. 2008 was the first time and the first time Hull City had been at Wembley in their entire history.
I don't know where you were in 2008 but the ticketing arrangements were chaotic due to the demand probably but also due to the fact the club had never experienced a Wembley Final before.
I'd seriously question the motives of those people on twitter and on here who are boycotting the club at Wembley in a Final. I can fully understand if it is a financial decision but to stay away on a matter of principle is a bit much. Its not life or death it's a football club, our football club who we are supporting.
The club have put the fans through the mill many many time in the past without giving us anything back on the field and certainly not in Wembley Finals but I don't recall fans publicly staying away because of it when we did get involved in a decent game.
Look at the Newcastle away game during the Lloyd/Hateley era ? Over 6,000 travelled mid week at £25 a ticket ( when we were paying £8 at home) Don't recall all this public hand wringing over the clubs owners then??
FFS Lloyd wanted to move us down South to take Wimbledons place at one stage.
Liverpool away, League Cup and already 6-1 down, we packed the place out.
And why ?
Because in those days we ( who still went) supported the shirt.
How many owners and come and gone since those days when we had sod all on the pitch and those in the Directors Box were ripping the heart out of the club and not putting a penny piece in?
Yet the fans remain the same.
And it will happen again.
