He's a good manager. FA Semi final and Lukaku misses a pen. Bought them Stones. Teams like Everton arent top 4. Some seasons they wont be 5th to 10th. He wont be short of offers. Edit didnt buy Stones.
He's had 3 years to do what??? Whats the remit? He hasnt taken the club backwards its just not been a great season. Should be an FA Cup final to look forward to. He's given a young England player the opportunity to play. Not many risk them. I imagine the Academty will be thriving at Everton because of him. Think someone said it the other week. If you had the 20 greatest football managers of all time in the PL, one will win it 3 will be relegated and the rest will have no plan B and have lost the dressing room.
I think he's a great example of the 'Peter principle'. He didn't improve WIgan, yes they won an FA cup but were relegated same season, he hasn't improved Everton.
In the past ten seasons they've finished... 6th 5th 5th 8th 7th 7th 6th 5th 11th 12th? They've dropped out of the top ten with him and things are getting progressively worse, he absolutely had to go, it was past the point of no return.
I reckon not finishing in the bottom half two years in a row would be up there and why should there be a cup final to look forward to? They got knocked out by a better team. Sure he gave Stones a chance, that same lad now looks a shadow of the player he did before, only the bottom 5 have conceded more than Everton this season which must be doing great for his confidence. Its clear he isn't capable of getting the potential out of the squad he has, sure the players are partly to blame but we all know its the manager that has to take responsibility. I'm not one for sacking managers in a hurry but in my opinion this is the right decision.
They have new owners of course and apparently the new manager will be given circa £90 million to spend. Add to that the sale of Stones and Lukaku for say £70 million combined, I think they want to trust someone who can spend it wisely.
Sky Sports News HQ @SkySportsNewsHQ BREAKING NEWS: Ronald de Boer tells #SSNHQ his brother Frank is interested in Everton vacancy.
Well funnily he did resign from Ajax this morning. Apparently theres a £2 million residue on how contract if he were to leave.
How much good football have we seen then? Not really talking ****e is it but a statement of fact. The last few matches have been ok, shame that they were to all extent and purpose meaningless matches. I agree about Martinez
Someone ought to set up a poll, have we seen good football under Bruce, yes or no, I reckon most of the matches are a resounding no. I feel sorry for Martinez, there has been kind of a media witchhunt against him for a while, he's a decent man with good footballing principles. Interested to see Bum Chins comments about Martinez football not being appreciated by their fans, they seemed to play decent stuff that I saw as a neutral and the guy won them a proper trophy to boot
Why would Koeman leave Southampton and European football for Everton at this current moment? Southampton are in a much better place than Everton right now. Can see De Boer going to Southampton if so.
Everton have been taken over by a billionaire, the council are going to help them move to a new ground and they are going to spend big in the transfer market. I can see the attraction of taking that on. How much higher can Southampton go?
