Can someone PLEASE tell me what it is with him ? Personally I think he is pretty poor and really not very good ...BUT......he keeps scoring !! Is he really our future and am I being far too harsh ?? Genuinely confused and would welcome any comments.
If you're a central defender you wouldn't want to play against him. He's awkward and strong sometimes looks clumsy but then a touch of brilliance. Took his goal well and some nice touches and holds the ball up well. Not everytime, but he's a bit like a forward version of Henry. Does his job and works hard and fans will either love him or hate him. A bit of a rough diamond to coin a cliche. JFH is probably one of the best managers to guide, improve and get the best out of him. I personally think he will become a cult hero for us.
He's not a Charlie Austin. ( Who is? ) He's not one for the purist, but he's about the right level of player for where we are at this moment in time. He works hard and scores goals. What's not to like? Brentford would've loved a Polter leading their line today.
He's about as good as it gets for us atm Big Chaz. It's not as we are going to be signing an Ibrahimovic is it? Polter is on realistic money ( I'm guessing ) and does exactly what it says on the tin. As you say ... He's German ( No bad thing ) and he's ouR's ... efficient.
Come on. We love a tryer more than anything else. Heider wasn't an all rounder but **** did we love his workrate and aerial threat. This is a new breed of 'what the **** is going on but he is scoring again'! Love him.
Helguson was never pretty but was effective. Polter isn't quite as good on the ball but is bigger and stronger without it.
Lovely description, at this level a good squad player to have but he'll frustrate as much as exhilarate...
AS i said previously Staines you cannot knock his commitment or enthusiasm. His work rate is very good and he doesn't give up a lost cause. He is scoring goals and i bet defenders hate to mark him. However, he isn't very good in the skills dept and can't really pass that well. He is frustrating and the best that we seem to have at the moment. I would hate to go into next season with him/Mackie/Washington as our strikers.
I think we are doing him a bit of a disservice, yes his touch and his control is a bit leaden at times but he has the ability to play a great pass here and there and his link up play has assisted a lot I our recent goals and that's when he's not scoring them himself.
Every game he makes me laugh several times H needs to improve his upper body strength (& control and speed of thought and feet and heading and shooting)
He is definitely starting to win me round, played the target man well yesterday and scored a good goal. Keep improving Seb.....
No answer, I think the same as you. I watch he play and think, why ! But he keeps scoring goals and putting in a shift so great, I think his movement off the ball isn't great but hell it's working so long may it carry on. Each time I look at the line-up up I'm thinking switch him out for CW but still keeps doing the job. Best of luck Seb, keep putting it in the net. Shows how little I actually know about the game, despite my beliefs !
The Big German is the perfect fit for our club at the moment. Marco van Basten he ain't, but he is big. And a German. Faultless on effort. A bit of character. Above all, probably quite cheap. Wunderbar!
So he's German. So what? Ale is Argentinian, Chery is Dutch, Angella Italian, Mackie and Phillips Scottish enough to play for Scotland, Washington Ireland, Junior Canada, Green England. You don't mention their nationality twice in a short comments about them thank the Gods, if there are any.
