I heard he is lined up for the clubs community ambassador for Town End Farm and Pennywell,,
At any other club, and I mean any other club!!, He would never have been allowed to play until this was sorted out. FACT. But they were so desperate for points and to stay up, they used the excuse of," but nothing has been proven yet", to quieten the critics, of which there were thousands from every club. If they had been safe mid-table, he would never have kicked a ball for the Mackems until the case was finished, FACT!! That is the truth of the matter, they put Premier League survival over common sense and human decency. I hate them even more now, and they have made a rod for their own back from this day and onwards. What a club!!!

Looks like I am barred on the Mackems board! Surprising given the things some people are saying on there are pretty bad. One more thing, Sunderland have now become the club everybody wants to be relegated!! The most hated club in the League I`m told. Wow, even above Leeds??

I thought Mackems did suspend him? Then lifted it. They will have to explain that whole affair to their supporters as they didn't exactly cover themselves in glory. Not sure what was going on or if they just in panic mode.
I think it would be a bit naive to assume that people within the club were not aware he planned to plead guilty and that the evidence showed he had done it. Surely the club would have made it their business to know the ins and outs of the case against to allow them to make a reasoned decision? Perhaps not, perhaps its all based on what he tells them. Seems a bit far fetched but you never really know. If the club has knowingly proceeded, being aware of the ins and outs, but just lacking a conviction, then that is not good on their part.
The reason I say that, is the evidence must be pretty damning that he felt the need to change his plea. Even if officially they do not get to see the evidence against, they must have made it their business to pull him in and say "look explain what they have and what has gone on here, you'll ****ing ruin us if we back you and then it becomes obvious we never should have"
Meh...I suppose your lot will hold a minutes applause in the 15th minute this weekend?
Do you really think he would have told them the truth though? I suspect he would have been covering his arse right up until the last second. It's definitely backfired for them on a PR front. However, if he helped keep them up last season (and possibly even this season), I am sure the millions they saved will help ease their pain.
This is the million dollar question, what have the club done to investigate the situation and come to the decision they did (fumbled as it was). Have they simply asked him and he has said "nah mate never touched her or even text her, its all lies" (while grinning like Savile)
You hear rumours that people know people who work within the club and they claim they all knew he was guilty. Probably bollocks but surely someone on here must know someone who works at Sunderland and could ask what the general consensus around the place was. I suppose the club can't act on the general consensus though, only how the law tells them they should behave. They must have had some **** hot solicitors on the case saying "cover our arse here"
