The way SB was talking yesterday I think if we get someone in on loan that will be it, I don't think he has money to spend unless any players go. Having watched yesterday we should have scored a lot more with all the possession we had in fact they could have nicked a draw in the last couple of minutes which would have been totally against the run of play but that's what could have happened when you don't finish teams off.I know Hernandez wasn't playing but it only highlighted the fact that for me another striker is needed. What do you do pay over the odds at this time of the year or get a loan player from a premier club like we did with Akpom or stick with what you've got and watch others around you strengthen.

KingFut can confirm that Everton have made two offers for Elmohamady already, as well as an offer from West Brom with both clubs interested in bringing the right-wing back to the club either during this winter transfer window or in the summer.

Winter Transfer window was the key part to me. I think the West Brom interest is new as they signed Chester in the summer to play RB. Surely they would just have bought Elmo in the summer instead, Chester is hardly getting a look in.
Bruce said in his after game interview with Burnsy that the rumours about Elmo where complete bollocks, in fact he more or less bollocked the BBC for starting them. Burnsy actually had to try and defend his employers by saying they where going on the rumours out of Eygpt.

Curtis on his contract situation...

“My contract is up in the summer and, right now, I am playing for my future. We are in talks over a new deal but, if the effort is not here to keep me, then I shall have to move on.

“I’ll be 31 at the end of the season, and I need to be playing games. I would be happy to sign on again here because I’ve been at Hull for three years and really enjoyed it.

“But I have to get the terms and assurances I am looking for. And, if it was that easy, it would be done already.”

“At the moment, I am just concentrating on playing football and the rest will look after itself.

“At my age this is probably going to be my last decent deal, so it’s an opportunity to make a stamp on the financial situation.

“Sure, you want to earn the money, but I need to play as well so I’ve got to be certain it’s the right deal for me and make the best decision I can.”

Not at all what he said after the match yesterday on Radio Humberside. The line in bold is about the only thing he did say about his contract talks that tallys with the above.

I know it doesn't look like the Allams are willing to gamble and splash any cash this window, but I'd say it's an even bigger gamble NOT splashing the cash.
We're so close within touching distance of the top 2, yet it's been obvious all season we're lacking a decent strike partner for Hernandez.

M'boro are looking to bring in either McCormack or Rhodes, Derby have already added Camara and Blackman and are looking to bring in a big-money 'star striker', as well as Markus Olsson (left back at Blackburn) and both are rumoured to be in for Darron Gibson and Aiden McGeady.
