Fulham fan in peace, not sure what's in the cider at the moment down in the West Country but a lot of fans on your other Forum were talking about £25 million on strikers but you are mixing up players, Moussa Dembele mark 1 was a class class player and sold to Spurs for £15 million the Moussa Dembele mark 2 who scored yesterday was £500,000 and is a different player and nationality. McCormack was £11 million if we hit all the clauses but following our dismal year last year was probably nearer £8 million Anyway good luck for the rest of the season think you finish above Charlton, Rotherham and Bolton
Ahhh we thought it was the spurs lad on loan at your place,he certainly looks a good player. Can we have matt smith back,he had the biggest cheers of the game.
To be honest I think you would have a good chance of getting Smith on loan, he started the season in the first eleven but got injured in our 3rd game, he is now unlikely to regain his spot as young Dembele is on fire, add to the fact that Dembele is out of contract at the end of the season and many fans feel the only chance of getting him to sign is by playing him ( last season he refused to sign stating he wasn't playing enough). I definately think a deal could be sorted out which would benefit everybody.
Ayling had another poor show, him and Flint get caught for pace regularly- What has happened to Joe Bryan?, hardly knew he was on the pitch Saturday
We could almost get away this season with our midfield and strikers. But our Defenders and Keeper are not Championship. I hope Baker gets back quick for Williams, we seem stuck with Ayling as Moore never seems fit. We didn't push the boat out for the Southend Keeper - ironic when we made £8million bids for strikers. Long old season ahead. Obvious to all we screwed up our pre-season signings. But for all that I still can't see another manager who I'd want in preference to SC.
Agreed. I am disappointed that Flint doesn't appear to have stepped up. He was incredible last season. I was also pleased with Fielding last season - after a poor start he ended the season well. Unfortunately he seems to have regressed again - loss of confidence maybe? or maybe like you say he simply isn't good enough (?) - I prefer him to what I have seen so far of Hamer though. We definitely screwed up pre-season - which is strange. There must be more to that then the club is letting on - some boardroom 'politics' I suspect. Anyway, its left us weak and we are creaking. The thing is - considering our defence (which I believe is our soft underbelly at the moment) why were we offering stupid money for strikers instead of strengthening in that area? Agree with your last statement - I genuinely do, but I am getting a bit fed up of the 'we played well' spiel after every defeat. He needs to show everyone that he can respond positively to a crisis but he seems to play the same system/players. 'If you always do what you always did, you'll always get ......' I'll let other people complete the saying.
Something has to be going on in the background because I truly cannot believe that Cotts, especially after last season, would wish this on himself. There is a shadowy figure hiding in the boardroom who hasn't got the balls to come out and say that they caused this situation by not allowing the real boss to act on his requirements. Should my suspicions be true then it's only a matter of time before the messy stuff hits the rotating object again and the captain could desert the ship. Who would blame him if he is being made a fool and scapegoat for fiscal policies?
Depressing and predictable spring to mind. It could, and should have been oh so different, and we should have gone into this season on the crest of a wave. Instead we've won 1 league game in 10 and I don't fancy our chances tomorrow either.
It wasn't as if we played that badly generally, but we were undone but two bad defensive errors which were clinically punished- A quality free kick and a quality lob. That all added up to 4 goals and frankly, that was the difference between the sides. The difference was also 3 points, which ever way you want to look at it, we weren't good enough on the day, and too many more similar results will mean we weren't good enough for the season. I still think that there are half a dozen clubs similar to ourselves at the bottom and that our best chances lie with winning a mini league- That makes the away game at Bolton a bit of a 6 pointer-
We have some BIG games coming up that could well help to decide our fate this season. I hope we're up to the challenge...
If you read the news at Ashton Gate, you might of had a clue what was wrong in the boardroom. We severed our ties with one of the either board members or someone high up the chain, not long after the transfer windows shut. So maybe without being a rocket scientist I would suspect the clues is in his disparture
Or maybe you want controversy and make a mountain out of a molehill. Why not just go along with the fact that he was something to do with fiances and could be the cause of the issue.
Whatever the situation the rot usually starts from within and if you want a scenario to put a damper on anything positive, then that is it. Football clubs should play football and not internal soul destroying politics.
Baker makes a massive difference when in there! plus Williams as a wing back can defend as well.. we look more solid tonight. needed to be addressed and was. well done all..
Why do we have a -9 Goal Difference after just 15 games then and which is only 'bettered' by the 3 teams currently below us ? Leaky ? Yes....especially at home, where if you hadn't noticed, a couple of teams have scored 4 goals against us.
