I think 15th or 16th. We should improve on our start but I can't see us not being involved in a relegation struggle. Provided we stay up we need three next level players (in the defence) to be able to get to mid table next season. The midfield and attack look ok. We're not too far off having a decent squad and three defenders would see us safe. If we get them in during the January window we should be safe.
Merson is no friend of Sunderland, but he is not alone in thinking this way, the sooner we are out of the bottom three the better, but it could take a while yet to get over this bad start we have had.
I take no offense to us being tipped, we are still short of being a mid-table side, although we do look in way better shape now and should score enough to keep clear. m hoping we can get to 10-12th before January and maybe encourage Ellis to spend a few quid.
Stat time! Take comfort in Merson's previous efforts Merson's 14/15 relegation picks: Burnley, Leicester and West Brom Merson's 13/14 relegation picks: Cardiff, Hull and Crystal Palace Merson's 12/13 relegation picks: West Brom, Southampton, Swansea (also had Reading as surprise package, only relegated by 12 points) 2 out of 9 isn't even pundit worthy. Don't worry
We've narrowly escaped for a few seasons, got tonked by relegation rivals in the first two games, not won a game. That's the truth of the situation. If that was another team I'd think they were likely to drop.
I bought a light bulb for 2d in 1962 and put it in my bathroom. After 53 years it's still there. Now that's what I call value for money. (unfortunately, it popped in 1964 but otherwise it's alright)
This is what the bookies think: Premier league top 4 finish: Villa 100/1 Bournemouth 100/1 Newcastle 100/1 Norwich 1000/1 Watford 1000/1 Sunderland 1500/1 Premier league top 10 finish: West Brom 9/2 Villa 15/2 Norwich 8/1 Watford 9/1 Sunderland 28/1 Relegation: Sunderland 8/15 Watford 5/4 Norwich 13/8 Villa 2/1 Bournemouth 2/1 West Brom 3/1 ------------------------------------ The bookies don't even go us a fighting chance, we are already down to them.
Really really old school money. Im sure i read somewhere that there was once a large white note (no idea how much it was worth).and you could buy a dodo with it.
Two (old) pence. It used to be £ s d where 12 pence was a shilling and 20 shillings were a pound. 1 new penny is worth 2.4 old pennies. My first job (at Baum's the chemist retailer which used to be where the SOL is now) paid £2/10/6 for a 40 hour week, that is about £2.51 in current currency. 6p an hour. (But we were 'appy in those days) Now cue all the jokes about me being old.
