Galway did derail Tipp. Great game as well, was exciting which made a change. Callanan didn't deserve to be on a losing side but Galway dug deep. My only worry is they didn't look a great threat in terms of creating goal scoring chances! They will need goals to beat Kilkenny surely.
Do you put Joe on the edge of the square to be a goal threat or let him roam out the field to win lots of ball and set up scores from there. Callinan was terrific and no man who scores 3-9 deserves to be on the losing team. It asks a lot of questions.... Like how good was Tadhg De Burca for WaaaaaaTerford to have kept Callinan so quiet. I hope Galway show....that's all. KK were robbed in the minors.... But it's KK.... So big deal.
Hard to know isn't it. I can't see them racking up 25 points vs KK so they will have to get goals, KK are ferocious at picking up that 2nd ball so they will have to make hay in around the square with good ball and movement there. The same here, hopefully it is a good close game and may the best team on the day win.
Agreed.... But inly if the best team is Galway. I was up at the field last night and the place was buzzing just talking about it.
I think Galway can beat Kilkenny provided they play like they did against Tipp, any team in the history of the game would struggle against the sort of pressure Galway have been putting on the opposition of late.
Fair play to Kerry and their ref. They beat Kerry by four. Tyrone didn't get a stonewall penalty and got two scores from handy frees as well as one from a 45 that was clearly a wide. Other counties don't get that. **** them.
Bit harsh RB. It was a decent game, a tough game in those conditions too. I'm not sure where I stand on Kerry after today, I think I'd give the edge to whoever comes through this Sunday's semi...we'll see how that goes first though.
I know.... It's just part of this anti Kerry thing I've got going on.... Although if there is a decision to get, they'll get it. The stonewall penalty wasn't a penalty at all. A great call from the ref. they did get a couple of handy frees though.
The ref caught a lad doing it (pulling the defenders arm across him to buy a free) for the Derry minors as well. Gave the Derry boy a black card.
You can't expect a Cork man to be objective about Kerry STH Missed it yesterday as I was at the Watford match but really looking forward to the mayo Dublin game on Sunday. Watching with a group of Mayo people so should be interesting!
Tyrone will be reflecting on missed chances this morning. A cracking match given the conditions. Certainly not the walkover suggested by some. Whilst soft they could have had a second pen as well, as the arm was around the neck. The success of the U21 side bodes well for the future however and hopefully this will be the start of another Tyrone resurgence.
Tyrone could and prob should have won that, they wasted a couple of great goal chances that they should have taken and Kerry also got lucky with some laughable decisions from the ref. It was obvious the ref was giving Tyrone nothing because of the way their players acted against Monaghan. The funny thing is Kerry have become just as cynical as Tyrone or any other Ulster team in the past, the only difference is Kerry don't make it so obvious and do it in a typical sneaky Kerry way.
Conor Glass off the Derry minors has apparently signed to play for Hawthorn in the AFL. The poor chap will be burned to a crisp.
Any idea why the ref gave laughable decisions against Mayo in last years semi final? Or this years Munster final? Common denominator?? But yeah, Kerry are and always have been the most cynical team on the block. Cute bastards.
Well that was something.. Absolutely great game. Cork absolutely battered the Kerry girls. The Dubs looked to have old manned Mayo but Mayo pulled it out of the fire.
Lets hope for the Mayo lads that their women go down as easy as their men. Some poor discipline from Dublin at times but the ref clearly had a hard on for Mayo.
Well done to the Dublin ladies in beating Armagh. And the guys too who showed great resilience to come back strong and close it out so well. The GAA overturning the red for Diarmuid Connolly was ****ing daft... But it is what it is. 3-15 to 1-14.
