I feel I should occasionally post when there's more important things around than slagging off Cove, and this isfarmore important. There's a potentially awful story developing in regards to Chiefs' all-pro safety Eric Berry visiting a lymphoma specialist in regards to a mass in his chest that is feared to be cancerous. I'm sure everyone is hoping for the absolute best.
Goodness me, let us all hope that it is not what they fear and that he can make a recovery. Fingers firmly crossed.
Sort of background article on Lymphoma, if he was clear in August then they must've caught this early on, looks good with survival rates. http://www.medicalnewstoday.com/articles/146136.php
And as it's Thanksgiving here are some digital Turkey legs. please log in to view this image One for Dan and one for Cove. As Oscar Wilde once said, “After a good dinner one can forgive anybody, even one's own relations.”
I'm sure Eric will be fine, it's just very scary news for everybody involved. I'll give Cove thanksgiving off if he admits Peyton and Andrew are top tier QBs.
I'll give you Peyton, he is a hall of famer and more. Luck is still a long way off to be top tier, playing in the AFC South can make a QB look pretty good. Anyways, hope y'all have a wonderful thanksgiving
The perfect opportunity to not be a moron and you've pissed it away. Everyone accepts ma boy as a top 5 QB this year, but you had to go and ruin thanksgiving for everyone. Things I'm thankful for: I'm not Cove
Luck's going to be a HOF and is the only better QB than Peyton in the league this season. The Colts are a good bet at 20's to win the SB this year. They have the best O and Vinatieri never misses if needed. Sort out the D and they would be nigh on invincible.
I've always liked you, you know. Shame our DEF is terrible. We don't have a running back, but that's alright, and our OL is crap, but Luck + the receivers and special teams (best punter in the league and one of the best kickers) are amazing. And Luck's in his third year!!
But we all know that one good season, an elite QB doesnt make. He has been good this year, but Rodgers, P. Manning and Brady have all been very very good year in year out. Thats the difference, Luck needs to lead the Colts to the SB and doesnt crash (ala Seahawks) the next season then maybe he can push his way into the top 5. But this is his first year with a pass rating of over 90. Rodgers for instance has been over 90 since he became starter in 2008 and that was his only year <100. Manning has only had 3 years less than 90 as a starter. As for no better QB, that depends how you look at it. Rodgers has one more TD, a third of the INTs, a higher completion PCT and a higher YRD per COMP but less overall yards. Also Luck has more rushing yards. Based on those stats and Rodgers having the higher RTG I'd say there was at least one better QB.
Well I was just using stats really, being a Cricket fan I can never get that out of my system. I think Luck sometimes makes it look so easy you don't realise how hard it really is! But as it stands any of us could be right, who knows what the future holds for any player.
Yeah you're going to need a better argument than just reeling off stats. "Making a Super Bowl" doesn't make you a good QB. Flacco vs Kaepernick was certainly not a battle of the two best quarterbacks, and Luck is a better player than Wilson who made it last year - even most Seahawks fans will admit that now. I'm also careful to avoid the use of the word "elite" because it's meaningless and subjective, but nobody would be stupid enough to argue Luck's career is on par with Brady or Manning, similarly you should avoid including Rodgers next to those two at this point. If Rodgers falls off next year, then his career will have been nowhere near as good as Brady and Manning, who are definitely going down as two of the best of all time no matter what happens next. Luck is a top 5 QB without a doubt if you're going on who is better right now. Brady, Rodgers and Manning are all in that tier of "definitely top five" with Luck, which is why I include him as a top tier QB. You can't make a valid argument for any QB other than those three to be better than Luck is right now, and if you had to pick one player to start a franchise with, then I'm pretty sure I know who 99% of people would pick. Your insinuations that Luck hasn't been good in his first two years are ridiculous, so I won't bother addressing them because everybody was gushing over him before this year, and rightly so - oh, and please, never use passer rating as an argument to settle any issue ever again. It's a meaningless stat that nobody of any merit ever takes seriously.
Meanwhile I have Josh McCown to look forward to, unless they send him back like the Tampa Bay Times wants. http://bleacherreport.com/articles/...headline-tells-bears-to-take-josh-mccown-back
Gutted about Eric Berry, hoping he is ok and for a speedy recovery. He is my fav Chief due to his grit and determination. Not only is he a great player but his character and attitude to the team around is so influential, he controls the D and is so vital and important to this team. To see the type of person he is you have to watch his call on a turnover against the Giants last year - I loved that moment 'give me the ball Eli!' And his phobia of horses there is a funny video on YouTube with Berry and one of the Chiefs mascots 'Warpaint'
