Let me say that as far as I am concerned they are leaders as they are the ones that put all this together and were elected by their members to do so. Leadership comes from the top and the said leaders should lead by example ( maybe that maxim should also be applied to all walks of life ) A spokesperson in my view gives out ready made press releases etc, would you call the prime minister a spokesperson for example?
So, who leads Hull City AFC? Who decides what 'the right thing' is? All MP's are elected by the people to represent them in Parliament, in effect to be the electorate's voice in Parliament. A spokesperson if you will. Democracy is aimed at the people being the ones with 'power' through their chosen representatives. They are elected based on their manifesto and cannot generally bring in measures outside of them. They can be voted off if their performance is sub-standard. They only 'lead' in the sense that they are nominated and elected for a Prime roll to ensure that the will of the electorate is carried out. Contrast with 'dictator', which is what you're describing if you feel they themselves make unilateral decisions. All of which is academic, but who should be in charge or representative of the booers?
