Sheff U. Gates of 30,000 plus average in the Premier League, now getting 18,000 plus average. 12,000 floating spectators from there, maybe more or less, who knows? add "consumers of football" currently not attending matches (people from Hull took the ferry to watch Grimsby when they were doing better than City. Some people just want to watch a good game of football and are not attached to any particular team ... with cars, motorways, easier communications ..... I remember all the people from Hull who'd travel as far as Liverpool to see Premier League football) ... I have no idea what Dr. Allam's plans are but I wouldn't underestimate him ... I reckon he's capable of selling the club at a profit to someone who won't be as good a custodian of the club as he is ... moving the club west makes sense in a few ways, not in others ..... I'm not thinking like a fan here .... I'm trying to put myself in the position of a businessman who rescued a football club out of a sense of munificence, is finding it's not as much fun as he imagined and wants out but isn't prepared to lose much dosh on the deal and would prefer to make a profit on the whole shebang .... if some "fans" give him little room to negotiate he may not be able to afford to be too choosy about who he sells to. I believe he wants the best for the club but if the wrong person with the right money comes along, he may be glad to take an offer if it removes the burden of having to deal with CTWD. Like anyone else, he wants to be happy, to enjoy life. He thought his plans for Hull City might make fans happy. He was wrong. He'll be hurt and disappointed and think maybe someone else might succeed where he failed. I think he's played a blinder.
I also think for many fans the chant @ 19:04 is now a celebration of the FA decision and that fans can have a voice. That's a huge thing in the modern game with multi millionaires calling the shots. Look at last week's details of Allams appeal, Fans shouldn't have been consulted in the opinion of our owners lawyers. I actively back CTWD I do respect what the owners have done but his insistence on pushing the name change is stubborn and the primary cause for current divisions of fans not CTWD.
Fa rules prevent a club having a name that includes a sponsorship. I think you need to go back to Mr Mooney and get your basic facts straight before posting again.
He doesn't have to deal with CTWD regarding the name change. He has to deal with the FA. That's three in a row that you've based on false premises. Extraordinary.
So many people are happy (with their 30 pieces of silver) current owners business approach, regardless of impact on fans. If the theoretical owner had used the difference to fund the club (& therefore reduce the debt (gift?) and keep the name, YES
Anyway, I accept the "Allam Era" has come, or is coming to an end. As illustrated by the attitude of owners all over the Premier League, of large and small clubs, since City's next owner is unlikely to be the fans in the form of a Tigers 2000 esque group, unlikely to have any connection to Hull, perhaps not even British or resident in the UK, consideration for the name, badge, team strip and so on is likely to be less in evidence. As far as Dr. Allam is concerned, if he'd never got involved with Hull City, it's unlikely tweets such as those posted by Mr. Gretton would have appeared and why should a rich man hang around waiting for the next Mark Gretton tweet or the next expletive laced diatribe on a forum such as this? So ... who will be the next owner of Hull City ... the rumour doing the rounds is Peter Ridsdale (banned from being a company director) fronting a purchase by a Macau casino owner (another dodgy wezzy after Hinchcliffe .... do they clone them over there or something?).... personally, I hope Tiger Beer buy us ....
So you think fans make no connection between Mark Gretton's tweet and CTWD? I perceive CTWD as being anti-Allam. The chairman's tweet and hip flask are enough for me. I perceive Tony Blair to be a liar. He'd probably not agree. I don't know how many fans perceive CTWD as being anti-Allam but I expect further, increasingly loud booing of a protest at 1904 perceived as anti-Allam by pro-Allam fans .... even after Allam has gone .... booing sections of the support can be habit forming, a celebration and a "tradition" too ..... almost like "old firm" matches .... it'd be ironic if CTWD succeeded in killing Hull City off ... here's how it would be done. Hull City is bankrupted by Dr. Allam. A new club is formed called Hull Tigers ... or simply "Tigers" ... that team climbs the football pyramid and becomes a Premier League brand .... whether fans like it or not, clubs need to either break even or find a benefactor. Anyway, this is pretty much history now. If the FA doesn't allow a name change, the Allams will be off, the club may already have been sold ... we can only hope the new owner isn't yet another Lloyd, Hinchcliffe, Belton, Bartlett etc.
I used to be anti-name change and pro-Allam, now I'm just anti-name change. I really, really hope he sticks to his word for once and pisses off.
I think we're all quite tired of this now. It's not a nice distraction is it. I don't think the FA will sanction the Allams name change,we all seem to agree on that and so if they carry out their threat to sell, they will need to first find a buyer. Unfortunately for the Allams, i don't think that will be so easy,as they don't own the ground. So it looks like were in for a very long haul, whilst being stuck in a kind of limbo. Not very nice is it ? The unexpected in fighting (i mean at the games, not on the forums, that's just a forum thing),promises to make things even worse than they have been. And so it's Steve Bruce i feel for. It can't be easy keeping a feeling of unity around the place, with all of this as a backdrop. We can only hope he has the patience and desire to stick around, when he (inevitably) gets other offers.
You've filled this thread with long posts making false accusations and showing your complete ignorance of the topic under discussion. Over a dozen posts of utter bollocks, it's not a great start on here.
