Net result is he has left, we have able deputies in his preferred role and an unexpectedly high transfer fee in the manager's kitty, given the length remaining on Snodder's contract.
My bugbear (if any - hardly lost any sleep over it though, Supers
) has been addressed - a word of thanks to NCFC - "fan base which showed him little respect at times last year." - but who nevertheless deemed him worthy of player of the season.
So we can now all unite behind closing that page, turning over and starting a new chapter in the ongoing saga that is NCFC

Of course that deserves humanity and at the time I was shocked about that incident and quite rightfully I remember he took a bit time off. What I'm talking about is in general comparing footballers with normal people in returns to their day to day jobs at times it's difficult to feel humanity with them if they do a poor job, at the same time they can pick up a life changing injury and that's their source of income gone so there is some sympathy there.
I'm not saying footballers should earn the ridiculous sums they do but at the same time Snodgrass and any other footballer has put in thousands, maybe hundreds of thousands, of hours of hard work to be where he is today. To be a Premier League quality footballer isn't easy. In fact, it's unimaginably hard - the success rate must be in the decimals. Add to the fact that his quality has probably, at times, made your life a little easier over the last two years and I think he deserves a little bit more respect that you're giving him.

I would love to have kept hold of him as he would be awesome at this level, and was in my opinion our best player. However there is no way we could turn down an offer of that size, particularly as he only has a year on his contract, so it's good business for us to have made such a healthy profit, no complaints at all and now we just need to find ourselves a new hero.
On a footballing side, whilst Snodgrass was our best player, he is not the sort of player I would sign.
Steve Bruce is paying over the odds for a reliable player rather than ability. Lets face it, his passing was not up to scratch and his movement was very weak.

So, be honest, if you were Steve Bruce and had that sort of money available, who would you be targeting to sign in that right mid role?
I can see him bagging double figure goal or assists with Hull this season. I think they have a great manager in Bruce and hopefully the Europa league wont ruin their year like it has done for Swansea and Newcastle the last 2 seasons.
I think that emphasises my point with him, he's a solid facts and figures type of player, so many goals, so many free kicks, assists etc. Ultimately, he is not going to add or progress any footballing style up to the next level. He is a very British player.

I do completely agree with that, but I imagine you'll dislike baring in mind I think be need players with physical attributes on the wing.
With our strikers we need pace on the wings who can get in behind and cut back to one of out forwards. I felt Snodgrass was too predictable coming in on his left and than putting a cross into Hooper and RVW who just are not that type of striker. We need a winger with better movement who can get in behind the defence.
Back on topic, I agree about a bit more pace on that side always found Snodgrass would beat a full back try to take on the centre back and would usually fail miserably, after watching the world cup you forget how many of the goals have been made by pacey counter attacks we need that ability.
Snodgrass was a decent player for us and had some decent aspects of his game ( work rate, delivery (mostly!) and weighed in with some goals) but in some ways was limited in ability ( one footed, pace).I must admit actually feeling that him going will be a good thing for the club.

Hi bors, Snoddy is not the first player to jump ship and I don't think he will be the last. Looking at our current situation, we have quite adequate replacements already at the club so his transfer to Hull is not a total loss. Allied to that is the financial gain we made by his transfer.
The manager is obviously not happy at his departure but he has expressed it was a good business transaction for Norwich. I think I speak for most fans when I wish him success at Hull and thank him for his endeavours while wearing the green and yellow.
It is understandable that players want to advance their career and who can blame Snoddy for taking the opportunity to continue playing among the football elite in the PL.
