Would love Elbow to come to the SOL, saw them in Manchester and they were absolutely class. Can't stand One Direction, bunch of posturing twats, but if they bring in money to the region and the club it's no bad thing.

I agree to some extent but they are still a very good band, and even the last album has a few standouts, very few groups have such an outstanding back catalogue of original material as they have.
Dinar like, my favourite banded just released their 15 studio album last year. Not even a 'super band' but prove that staying true to yourself will keep your fan base.

I worked in two different music venues in the late 70's, 80's and early 90's .......... I saw 100's of groups and slightly took it for granted.
One I missed was Ian Dury who was always on tour, I just assumed I'd see him before I died so didn't put myself out to work on his visits.
Then he died
K.O.L. were superb and I would like to see Metallica or Steve Earle come next year, although Barcelona would be nice, only the best for me,
metallica played rock the beach in helsinki last week. you could hear them all the way to ours, 12km away.
i don't really care which bands play the sol if it supports the local economy so well. pre-season tours will be the way forward
I would have thought concerts at Sid James would be a problem due to all the local residents. The Sol is a much better venue in terms of access, car parking and logistics.
Metallica are not as good as they once were imo. I have a feeling you might see Robbie Williams there next year based on what I have been told. I think the promoters will mainly stick to pop acts as things like Metal are a little bit too niche, those bands normally do festivals and arena, its rare for them to do stadium gigs. I expect The Killers would be another one that might be coming round again next year.
