However, if Andy Hughes really said that, and it really represents his thinking, that would win me over. Not because I think Andy Hughes is some kind of infallible oracle, but because I would have thought he would have been the last sort of person to have favoured Riga, If Riga is good enough for him, I am convinced. My only reservation is that he could be arsekissing Riga in the expectation of a job. Maybe to replace Euell in charge of the u21s? Any other more minor coaching post available he could probably match elsewhere oop north. My suspicions of Hughes joining the staff soon was aroused by the over-the-top testimonial posted on the OS when he left.

To do well next season, we need to finish above teams like Bolton. Bolton have already signed three players this week, including Feeney from Millwall, and our own DD. I am not panicking by any means, but this is frustrating. We can all put 2 and 2 together and reach our own conclusions. The consensus on the Charlton websites seems to be a new foreign manager that is not Jose Riga. So we are back at Square One again.
i'd say it is a bit further than frustrating. still... it's not our millions at stake. i'm sure the duch knows what he's doing. (yeah right!). seen it on twitter a lot lately... who's making the football decisions whilst no football man is in place? who says when pre-season starts? who's recruiting? who's saying who to keep? i get more anxious about it the more i think about it. still, come august we'll have a nice new pitch to play on. no players, but at least we can rent it out for the odd five aside without it shredding to bits.
