Oh balls!! You're right Col. My mistake . Sorry. http://www.lbc.co.uk/strike-action-could-shut-tube-network-across-bank-holiday-weekend-90671
I heard it's just the people who deal with the power supply and therefore It would not effect tubes from running as normal
Chiltern line great...remembrer that Col, get on at Haddenham or PrincesRis ........but lads it is nearly a 45 min walk from Wembley stadium to Kingsbury and that is over Barn Hill.....I lived on Barn Hill for 5 years and it is not an obvious walk, an hour round the side (and back) ...still hoping antibiotics kick in soon....am feeling completely s@@@@.. Glad this happened now and not 4 days later....I think
The power supply would be switched off, leaving the tube paralysed as the tube managers are legally not allowed to touch the power unless they are suitably qualified. Held to ransom. Hopefully the talks are productive.
While the email I got from the BO suggests airmail tickets delivery will be held for collection at a Wembley office I still get that nagging (no not her, not my whiff) feeling that tickets will be posted. Feeling a bit nervous ... my flight from Ireland is Friday so I would not be too confident I would get delivery before then if posted. Bad enough buying three tickets so my kid can sit within 10 yards of me.
This tube strike combined with the Wembley ticket pick up is seriously messing up my plans!!!! Gatwick to Victoria by train, no problem. Victoria to Paddington, cab fare approx £12. I have to leave my luggage at my hotel. Paddington to Wembley stadium for ticket pick up, cab fare approx £23-28. Wembley to Hennessy's in Kingsbury, cab fare approx £10. That could be £50 in total cab expense. But it will save me a lot of time and make it possible for me to spend some time at Hennessy's with you lot. IMO it's worth it. I'm open to suggestions though. Or sharing of cabs, whatever. Over to the locals.
Because of wrong delivery address on my first order I emailed the club to make sure they had got my correct address. The reply I got said everything was fine and they would be shipped to Norway. Not heard anything else from them so still harbour hope I will receive them by mail. #fingerscrossed
I need to get from London Victoria to Kingsbury - any idea how I do that if the tube's knackered?? Hoping to get at least two hours in Hennessy's.
A quick search told me that we can get bus numbers 83,182 or 223 from Kingsbury road to Wembley Stadium. Apparently takes around 20 mins. I think if there's no tube, that's what I'm aiming to do once I get to the pub! If the strike is confirmed, I will research it more thoroughly and post my findings on here. Anyone with local bus knowledge...............their input would be appreciated. (I don't think walking from Kingsbury to Wembley is an option).
Inconvenient?!! Christ alive..................apart from the extra bank holiday travellers, there will be tens of thousands of QPR and Derby fans trying to get to Wembley. FFS!!
buses okay normally...but this may not be normal...there is a football match being played at Wembley that day I am told...and there maybe a tube strike....I think that situation is improving though... what do other Londoners know....Staines y...you should be the one in in the most "know" working in a transport sort of place.6
They don't usually during strikes. Walk from Kingsbury to Wembley is about 2.5 miles via Fryent Way. Best bus route is 79 from Kingsbury. 83 is option but a mile away. Let's wait to get 100% confirmation of strike
