They don't have to as long as they don't try and stop it at other clubs

There are far more stood up at Anfield than at the KC or a lot of other grounds.

Why couldn't safe standing be implemented at Anfield? Away fans stand there every game. And therein is one of the problems with the current system. You are being held at the whim of stewards, police etc. Some fans are left alone as they will not be pushed about but others, like ours, have too many rubberneckers there to watch the other team rather than interested in supporting the team and are quite happy for the stewards to get everyone sat down and support the stewards and in some cases have been happy to see their fellow fans ejected.
The rail system is far safer, something to lean on and far more effective to stop anyone surging forward than seats which are knee high.
As for numbers, at Borussia they get in over 25,000 behind one goal standing but of course given the size of potential standing areas at the KC you are only looking at an increase of something in the order of just over 1,000.

When you think there are 25,000 behind the one goal at Borussia with space for beer vendors to walk along, smoking allowed, huge flags being waved and everyone getting behind the team vocally you can't help feeling envious comparing the sterile atmosphere at grounds in this country, especially the KC which is full of spectators there to see the PL stars and wish to do so without a lot of vulgar people spoiling their contemplation by making a noise and interrupting their view by standing up.

What does the seat look like when in the down position? Would that bar not obstruct your view

Also, what are the possibilities for capacity. If a seat is sold for seating purpose as J1, what does it become for standing. I presume J1 too. If J1 seating = J1 standing how does the capacity increase?

According to an FSF article I saw reading, the capacity can increase by up to 1.8 times that of seating, meaning the North Stand could rise to 7,000 ish(though that did sound high to me).

Have you actually looked at seats and how they work? The bar retracts when it is configued for seats. Is that beyond your comprehension?

Why do people like you just whinge and see problems when the system works at the club with the highest average attendance in Europe? You have to despair of some fans in this country. It works in the league with the largest crowds. Why wouldn't it work here?

I think at Borussia Dortmund it goes from 16,000 to 25,000 which is slightly less. Must admit 1.8 rings bell, but so does 1.4 for some reason If the figures are right for Dortmund it would equate to 6,250 in North Stand.

so if they're going to try it out with championship clubs first, what happens when one gets promoted?

The first time you see all of the Kop sat down then they can start lecturing.

You do realise the irony? All you ever do is whinge and moan about everything. It's as if you're stuck on a permanent menstrual cycle.

    Live and let live.

I believe that the main reason they enforce sitting in the away end at Anfield is because the back few rows cannot see the pitch when standing. So, I presume any safe standing would at least have to remove the back few rows.

    Well it should.

It needed a really long, hard look at it.

I think the German model is one we should follow. They've done it properly.

The fact you posed that question shows you have given no thought to it. Typical Hull attitude of finding reasons not to do something without knowing anything about the subject.
Being an imbecile is an aspiration for you.
