I think we'd do a little better than alright to be honest, I think we will run it close now anyway and that is more than I though 8 weeks ago.

Deffo playing better, BUT still think we are doomed!!!!

This will be confirmed when we are still bottom at Xmas.

Really hope I am wrong, but if the spuds beat us the pressure may be unsurmountable!!!

I still think we'll be ok, even if we're bottom at Christmas. I reckon we will finish 15th or 16th

Its going to be close a lot depends on the teams around us.

Palace, Norwich and Fulham are worse than us and someone always drops like a stone from mid table (west ham????).

Then you have the likes of Cardiff, Hull and Stoke who are not better than us. Results against those sides will be so important.

I just wish wed appointed Poyet when we brought Di Canio in.

we've gotta win the home games against all the bottom half teams we still have to come

I'm sure there was something about this - I'll try to find it but from memory it said something along the lines of: Short wanted Poyet when he employed Di Canio but couldn't get him down to an agreement between Brighton and Poyet whilst the court case was on - something along the lines of that he couldn't manage another club last season.

Had he been here from then, I honestly think we'd be OK. I don't think we'd be anywhere near the bottom of the league.

If we do go down, I hope we stick with him.

Can anyone remember the team being booed off at the SoL this season?

They've been applauded from the pitch in every game. and we've only won 2 of them!!

SUNDERLAND have been linked with a move for Coventry defender Cyrus Christie.

The Sky Blues academy product is in talks over a new contract at the Ricoh Arena.

But Sunderland, along with Championship side Bolton, have both been credited with an interest in the right-back.

Huddersfield saw a summer offer rejected for Christie, while Spurs were linked with the 21-year-old earlier in the season.

I reckon we have a 30/40% chance of staying up, so much depends on our home results after Xmas

Yeh we still have a very good chance of staying up.if we keep the good performances up against the lower league teams we will be ok.we have missed out on a few points against the lower teams but I still feel we will be ok.it won't be easy just hang on in

The way things are going it could be a season where a record - low points total keeps a team up. 31? 32?

Definitely manageable.

Agreed with multiple posters, dunno what barts on like

I'm a bit worried we could go 5pts adrift at the weekend. Palace and Fulham have easy looking home games and we have a top 6 contender. Although I'd consider a home loss to spurs a poor result, it's entirely possible. Very very big game this
