Having read the whole tirade on this thread, my conclusion is thus: We've moved from "my gift to the people of Hull" to "I want my money back" Communism to captialism in under 3 years.. and throw in some very clear totalitarian statements from the Dear Leader.. and you say it's not connected to politics?
No but I think one or two are a bit drunk on power and see themselves as little generals. It's gone beyond the initial debate, its more to do with not losing face now.
A pound to a pinch of dog ****, you're not more bored of all the protest threads than I am. People moan if we merge them and moan if we don't. For my part, if I see them in time I'll merge them, but if they're already running, merging them balls two threads. The responsibility is with posters to make their point on existing threads, you can hardly blame the mods or OLM for that matter as I bet we've contributed far less than you and some other people.
Certain things I do agree with---would be better if we got new owners who were not stuck up there own arse when others disagree---sod the prick
Which two name-change /anti-Allam threads have you merged recently? It's not as if there hasn't been one or two.

That one and the other one. How many have you not posted on? I actually left one I was going to merge because you stuffed it up with whinges about the number of threads. It meant I'd either littered another thread with you,or deleted all your whines before merging and then have a thread about mod bias.
That was bad luck wasn't it? The only one of 500 threads you were going to merge I ****ed up. Tell me next time in advance and I'll give you time to clean up the board.
It'd be a start, if people didn't just post on every thread that they're not interested or there's too many. One thick sod bumped up loads of threads just to try and prove a point.
So what's the plan then? Are you and the other mods going to put one or two sticky's up and encourage people to use them / merge threads into them, or do you like the scruffy look we currently have?
The easiest way would be to deal with the two or three posters that turn so many threads on the name change back to the same dull place, so others feel they have to start a new thread to avoid the dross. They tend to be people moaning about mod bias and the lack of mod action. As I said, I reckon I'm far more bored of all this than you.
Right so what you're saying is you're not going to do anything to clean the place up (apart from banning people like me). Don't you see think a board that has lots of identical threads is a sign of bad moderation?
That's not what I'm saying in anyway shape or form. I'm basically saying that you're effectively complaining about yourself. I'll merge threads if its not going to **** two threads up. You whinging on almost every thread means I can't merge them without deleting your whinges. If I delete your whinges, you make a new thread whinging about bias.
I tell you what then DMD you have my permission to delete my comments from every thread you merge into a sticky if it helps. Can't say more than that can I? So now you can drop all the anti-Allam / name-change threads into a couple of stickys.
Great, why don't you just show some self control and take some responsibility of your own and not whinge about the number of threads on every thread? Maybe then people would use those threads instead of thinking they'd avoid the one that's gone to rat **** and start another?
Probably answer your whining all in one place about me doing nothing, in between answering the other usual suspects questioning why I merged threads or deleted posts to keep them on topic.
