    Is the right answer.

We paid £3m for a full seasons loan.

Bloody steal that... to each their own but Chav's would have been far better off keeping him, their loss your gain I guess.

I agree, I thought it was a crazy decision on deadline day tbh, not that I'm complaining as the lad is a beast.

can we change the title on this thread to moyes appreciation thread?

I think we all love the job he's doing at this point at least.

now lukaku.. 3mil? is it cheap? no i don't think so but it is decent if he acheives something for everton. the kid is improving each year and looks ready to play prem football after west broms loan so he is like sturridge... ready to go. 3mil aint cheap for one years play... not when you have the chance to give a player a new contract. 4x3 = 12 which is the fee we paid for sturridge and we get to resign him up if we can or sell him. Everotn get him for one year and really ok its way better than sahin and should be ideal for everton but to judge it really he's got to put everton into 6th at worst (over lfc again) and maybe even get a cup done.

The kid looks like he's hungry to prove himself so unlike sahin i think everton will get value out of it. its a sunk cost but hey... its a lot cheaper than spending 7mil on aspas and probably selling him for 2-3mil next year or buying assaidi for 3 mi land proabably selling hm for 0 next year...

We got Moses for £1m a real steal that. I think Chelsea are crazy to let either out on loan. Lukaku is going to be immense and Moses has had a perfect start with us.

in fairness when a player like valencia gives up its serious.

i have thought that there is a small chance chelsea could go do a 6th. i mean lets be honest when chelsea did finish 6th and got so lucky lucky in the LC over what 5 matches to go do QF, SF and final.... well anything is possibel if sides make bad enough decisions.

I think the chances of chelsea falling out of the cl is slim to none but having rehired mourinho i cannot see abramovich sacking him... i can see him taking his toys and walking away for 18moth and them not having 50mil to spend on one player.

I think utd should have enough but lets be frank here too.... arsenal have some confidecne now and thats a big deal for them but they have not got the defensive mentality to keep it going. City should win this league by 10 points and then spurs and arsenal will be pushing hard. it could come down to utd and chelsea for 4th for all i know but i still fancy chelsea for 2nd.

We must simply remember that its not the same old top 4... thats sillyness. the thing evolves.... cheslea popped up, newcastle got relegated, city pop up, lfc nearly go to the wall now spurs have popped up and we've a set of clubs competing like mad. we just don't know what will happen but i'd not be at all shocked that utd drop out.... or Chelsea, or that spurs flop... or that arsenal's defense lets them down.

finally everyone needs to EARN their slot now.

I thought it was a bad decision to let bacon face select the new manager but hopefully Moyes will be given time because I think hes doing a great job at the moment and should be given a 10 year contract extension

  9. Excellent player. I'd said all summer that I rate Lakaku higher than Benteke, he is a much better and more consistent player IMO.

It was a great signing for Everton but £3m for a season loan isn't that cheap IMO.

Moyes is starting to look like a fish out of water at OT.

They were grim yesterday, City steam rolled them with a combination of pace, power & seemingly a greater desire.

United's frailties where there for all to see - a backline that's showing it's age - Ferdinand was nowhere to be seen at times. A CM that lacks pace & creativity when played as a 2. Wingers that look a liability at times & without RvP, they lacked a real cutting edge up front.

Moyes only reacted to the debacle when the game was done at 4-0. He should have changed their formation at HT, but that's Moyes to a tee.

He's going to be exposed as being somewhat 1 dimensional imo.

Every league place is worth over £1m & we shafted United for £4m over Fellaini's release clause in the last knockings of the window don't forget, so everything is relative......looks a snip when compared to torching £35m in 2 seasons for the big gypo & Clowning btw <whistle>

If the lad has a great season & Chelsea land Rooney or AN other World superstar next summer, then the possibility of the lad being available on a permanent might arise - in which case the years loan fee might look like a total bargain if the lad decides he loves it here.

so what are you saying? with out him you were 11th and with him and barry you are 6th? 5 places = 5million?

If lukaku becomes available he will not sign for everton permanently. Just so you know my thoughts on it. that's no shame or anything or not even really knocking everton is a bit of banter, its just an honest opinion on what i think is something that's a bit obvious.

Yes you shafted utd for 4mil. thats great well done, and well done for keeping baines too. but thats irrelevant to lukaku's deal. you got so much for sideshow bob that you coula afford it 4mil extra or no but the fact is you are being very hopeful if you think a guy who could say get you 25 goals and uefa cup on a loan would sign up when a long queue of higher paying clubs will line up for him.

finally... 35mil? lfc can well afford it as evidenced finally by our shoveling our summer transfer budget on a defender for 17mil or something just because....

  13. So that's what your judging your transfer activity on is it? <whistle>

I didn't say Lakaku was a bad signing, I think it is a great bit of business. I just said that £3m for a loan is a little high. Can't see you gaining three league places because of his signing mind (your comment suggests this but it probably wasn't what you meant).

What did you think to Felliani's performance yesterday?

I find it funny that during the summer tobes you were saying how great moyes was for you and how great felliani was too....

but thats only natural i suppose. LFc fans were laughing at your legend at old trafford so you defended him.

I think i'm right in saying that its cost avoidance rather than a gain for you on those loans.... without those two you were headed for bottom half right now after a shcoking start you look to be a bit better and should take what 6th or 7th depending on lius suarez and coutinho for lfc stopping you. 11th to 7th sould still justify lukaku but nothing on the planet will justify barry's wages.

Ok mate so the 'mighty' LFC can torch £35m on dumb & dumber & it's nothing to be bothered about, but EFC paying a £3m loan fee for a striker who'll be in the running for the PL top scorer this season is somehow a big deal?

As for his long term future, we have no idea how this season is going to pan out & what his realistic options will be come May & more importantly how the player himself might feel about those options.......

For now, I'm just delighted he's wearing an Everton shirt & I'm certain he's not going to disappoint us this season.

  16. For the record, I never said the amount was too high or a big deal <ok>

A few things there, firstly "a shocking start"? We're unbeaten ffs, a couple of goaless draws doesn't equate to a shocking start. lol.

We're not paying all of Barry's wages, so don't worry your head about it mate, plus he's been superb in his first 2 games & cost £0.

My view on what Moyes did for EFC has no bearing on how he's started at OT, the 2 issues are totally separate. He saved EFC from the abyss & I will always maintain that & be grateful for it.

Fellaini is a great player, where have I said anything other post his move to United?

No mate, just using it as a yard stick to demonstrate the relative pittance that we're talking about in real terms.

Fellaini had a poor game yesterday until Moyes changed their shape & he allowed him to push forward rather than just holding his CM position behind the ball. I think he has always looked a better player when played as an attacking mid rather than a holding one.

I think moyes would have to do a lot worse before united would cut him out.

I'm sure united have the patience to stick with Moyes through this early teething.

He's a good manager... nowhere near as good as Fergie... but good nonetheless. He may drop out top 4 this year... but he'll be back next year.
