We can play Carroll, kranjcar and Philips in that formation and are far superior than with Zamora who literally wouldn't make the side I played in. I also see people said a winger was getting past hill which is exactly what will happen. BAE has to start there from now on.
With a large amount of luck, ask anyone if we looked better in a 442 with Zamora or five in midfield after Zamora went off.
To be fair, 16 points from a possible 18 so I'm not complaining... I agree about riding our luck a bit, and these. 1-0 wins leave me on the edge of my seat; however a win is a win and we as hoops fans are by nature looking for something to grumble about. ( me included ). Lets wait and see. For me the main change seems to be teamwork and the desire to win. That, as we will all surely agree is the major change this season, so if we grind out results then I for one will continue to be happy..

Not sure why people answer him here. He's obviously after reaction and attention judging by his poor posts that can often surpass what the thread is actually about as he tries to be controversial or just wind people up. But the internet now provides a 'forum' for people to express themselves in the safer environment of their own house etc (as we all do now) without the worry of causing offense to someone face to face. Some take advantage of that....most don't.
There's a lot of differences of opinion on this forum about yesterday's match but, for me, Col has got it spot on (again). The only slight difference of opinion I would have with him, and others, relates to Carroll. I thought he was better than some have given him credit for. He looks a real prospect, always looking for the ball and comfortable on it. Mark my words, based on this showing, he's going to be a big, big player for us.

Agree with Col. Thought we were dreadful yesterday and would find it hard to pick motm but would probably go for Austin for his work rate. Thought Birmingham were awful and don't recall Green having a save to make. I know they missed a sitter but apart from that, they were really poor. Problem is teams are going to come to LR and play defensive and try to hit us on the break - we look like we are really struggling to break teams down and will get caught out if we continue this way. If we can get some creativity going i'm convinced we will score plenty. On the plus side, four games, four goals, four wins and four clean sheets - what we would have done for that last season!
Totally agree with this, if my memory serves me correctly when Newcastle won the Championship a few years ago they seemed to win nearly every game 1-0 or by the odd goal, which at the time I thought was pretty poor for a team of their talent. In other words if we can follow in their footsteps I will be very happy.
