Mate I wouldn't bite, its not worth arguing with people from teams beneath you ya can't beat friendly banter, as long as it's just that
Why is Moyes in the same mould as SAF other than being Scottish? I'm sure if you were to be hiring a Spanish manger who had guided his team to 6th place in the majority of the last ten years you would feel very underwhelmed.
Their personal attributes are similar, as are their long term approach to building a team and commitment to playing attacking football. Moyes might not have always had the team to play open, expansive football but his budget hasn't allowed it and securing survival was always his first priority. Slowly but surely he has moved towards a strong, motivated, solid attacking and now fast - football team. If Ferguson makes a team worth more than the sum of its parts, then what the hell is Moyes to Everton?
Gill says a manager with european experience so..... Its not Moyes. Klopp or Mourinho, it has to be one of these. Klopp if you want someone lesser known but who has proven himself at the highest level or Mourinho if you want 3 consecutive trebles.... maybe
Brilliantly put! As an Everton fan i will be gutted to see him go.But if chooses to leave every EFC fan should thank him for the amazing job he has done in 11 years. Its been obvious for many years that Fergie has wanted him as his successor. He cant speak to highly of him.
I hope its not Moyes. I rate him highly and one day could see him at United but this is Manchester United not Everton. I dont want Moyes to be sacked and his career be ruined if he doesnt meet expectations.
He offers the same level of stability and continuity, develops young players, and has consistently overachieved. In much the same way as SAF has competed for and won the league title despite having fewer financial resources than City and Chelsea, so Moyes has consistently finished in the top eight despite having fewer financial resources than nine or ten other PL clubs. Do you think SAF would have substantially bettered Moyes' record if he'd been at Everton operating under the same financial constraints?
He doesnt offer the same level Swarb. Everton are not Manchester United. Being stable at Everton is one thing, a hell of an achievement in itself but doing it at United, consistently and continuing it on year after year is something else. Its been a done deal for months as well I suspect, whoever is the next United manager knows it.
Yes he does. Everton have been as stable as we have for the past decade. They've been stable at a lower level, but still stable. Whether he can achieve it at Utd is another matter, but remember that the pressure at Utd may be higher, but the financial resources are also much higher. SAF hasn't had to face selling his best players season after season just to raise money to spend.
Which is the point I am making. Being stable at Everton doesnt compare to doing it at United. Moyes to Arsenal would be the best move for all concerned ( ok not everton ).
Perhaps not. But being successful at Aberdeen doesn't compare to being successful at Utd. Didn't stop SAF.
Err he won a European trophy with Aberdeen, beating Real Madrid in the process. It's hardly like he just won the Scottish league. We're the biggest club in the world, yet have just hired a mid table teams manager who has done and won absolutely nothing and not even made it to a Champions League group stage. Depressing. **** off gollum.
Stop acting like a silly little boy If he does well you will look a bigger twat than you already do...
Overcoming the dominance of.... I dont even need to say anymore, you know what I was going to put and you know its right
I doubt that. Doing enough to please the Everton faithful (finishing above Liverpool) is one thing, doing enough to keep the biggest team in worlds fans happy is another thing all together. He's shown nothing to prove he's capable at operating at this level. If he's so good, why haven't Newcastle, Tottenham or Arsenal ever come in for him?
And Benitez won European trophies with Liverpool and Valencia, beating AC Milan, Real Madrid and Barcelona in the process. Doesn't mean he'd be anything other than a disaster at Utd. Fact is no one knows how Moyes might do at Utd if he gets the right support and resources. To be honest it's quite embarrassing seeing some of our own supporters turning on a potential manager before he even arrives at the club - I thought it was only Liverpool fans who did that.
Whoever gets the job will be " the right man " because you can bet your life that Sir Alex will have chosen him !!!
I'm not for one minute advocating Benitez to Old Trafford, and neither do I want him, but how do you know he'd be a disaster? He's obviously a good manager, albeit a clown. Look at how Chelsea have been the last few months. They're the in-form team over the last few months. Gill earlier came out and said we'd go after someone with European experience. Do we envisage our future being in the Europa Cup? As that's the only European experience Moyes has.
