I remember that 100th goal. A real beauty(unsurprisingly). Great memories of that Matty free kick at Newcastle when St James park was being redeveloped and no away fans were allowed in. All you could hear was Alan Ball screaming. Sure Obi Wan would prefer to remember the numerous thrashings in the premier league years. Shaw the only change for me, but Ramirez had one of his best games against the toon at St Mary's.
Of course! Saints in Toon - last 20: Newcastle 14 wins Saints 3 wins Drawn 3 2005/06: Won 1-0 Dyer (FAC) 2004/05: Won 2-1 Shearer (pen), Bramble 2003/04: Won 1-0 Shearer 2002/03: Won 2-1 Sh.Ameobi, Hughes 2001/02: Won 3-1 Robert, Shearer 2 (1 pen) 2000/01: Drew 1-1 Gallacher 1999/00: Won 5-0 Ferguson 2, Solano, Dabizas, OG 1998/99: Won 4-0 Shearer 2 (1 pen), Ketsbaia, OG 1997/98: Won 2-1 Barnes 2 1996/97: Lost 0-1 1995/96: Won 1-0 Lee 1994/95: Won 5-1 Watson 2, Cole 2, Lee 1993/94: Lost 1-2 Cole 1988/89: Drew 3-3 O'Neill 2, Brock 1987/88: Won 2-1 Goddard, Mirandinha 1986/87: Won 2-0 Goddard, Gascoigne 1985/86: Won 2-1 Beardsley, Roeder 1984/85: Won 2-1 Reilly, McDonald 1973/74: Lost 0-1 1972/73: Drew 0-0
I'm going for a 2-0 win to the Toon. We're starting to pick up where we left off last season, and we look good. Looking forward to the game lads.
--------------------Boruc------------------ Clyne-------Yoshi---------Jos--------Shaw (is not fox... if not forren) ----------Schneiderlein------Cork--------- Puncheon-------Davis----------J-rod------ ---------------Lambert-------------------- Subs- Davis, Fox, Gaston, Lallana, Mayuka, Forren, Richardson. Davis HAS to start, sub gaston on at 60m. J-Rod HAS to start, put lallana on after gaston. Cannot drop Jos as he has recently performed well, also I was impressed with yoshi against city. Mayuka on with 10m to go if lambo tired- we need to see this guy play!
Our formation/line up - ----------Cisse----------- Gouffran---Sissoko-----Jonas ------Tiote----Cabaye----- Santon--Colo--S.Taylor--Debuchy ------------Krul--------------
Confident we can get something. If we play as we have in our last three matches you'll have to be at your best to stop us!
Good to see our Olympic heroes are keeping busy. Maybe he should ref the game whilst riding his bicycle around the pitch.
------------Boruc Clyne - Yoshida - Hooiveld - Shaw ------Schneiderlin - Cork ---Puncheon - Davis - Lallana ------------Lambert I think Lallana needs 60/70 minutes under his belt to really get back into form and he's been playing well when he comes on so I'd like to seem him start. I stuck with Hooiveld but honestly that second CB position is a tough one as we don't know whether Forren is doing well in training and whether he's ready to start, and Jos has got his confidence back and I'm very happy to see him start again. Ramirez, at the moment, is not as effective as Steven Davis, who's passing and pressing has been excellent, give him another start, he's not as creative, but far more consistent.
We have always been a thorn in Newcastle's side. So I think we will get at least one point. Pardew really should go all out to get something from the Europa League game as they haven't won anything in such a long time and let us be honest they are not going to be relegated.
Tomw to start thread, with Lamballana replacing him about halfway through the post as an impact match thread writer. Should make it a comfortable 2-0.
I agree with this, though it's a shame to drop Rodriguez. I'd stick with Hooiveld based on form alone, he's been very good recently, Forren will have to fight to get his place off him at the moment. That kind of attitude might just get them relegated though!
No way would I drop Rodriguez, he was pure class against city. Shame I may not be able to go to the game, I have the norovirus .
