I gave up over two weeks ago and it has been hard. I wasn't a big smoker 7-10 a day (lights) but still enjoyed them. My biggest problem is that I'm eating like a horse.
In my personal opinion, suicide rates would increase tenfold without alcohol, tobacco and drugs... and also porn.

I Quit on the 3rd March (day before the derby) went cold turkey thought if i could quit then, i can get through anything without starting again, so far havnt touched one, Wife still smokes though, so I do want one nearly everyday, just think it would be ****ing stupid if i did.
My old man went cold turkey Steve mate after a life time of smoking. Even 5 years later he still wanted a cigarette with his morning cuppa.
never smoked but i often wonder how some people afford it with the high cost of living. my indulgence is having a nice car and as you all know that very ex pensive, anyway if you want to quit i hope you succeed.

I smoked when I was in my 20s because I enjoyed a *** with a beer. Gave up on a lads weekend to Andorra, where the duty on ciggies is very low. Chain-smoked myself stupid and simply stopped enjoying, so I quit. Apart from not being dead, which is always a plus, I have saved a bloody fortune. Six quid a packet? **** off...
