Blooming Japs! Still fantastic though for team GB in the men's gymnastics getting a bronze, feel for the Ukrainians after that though.
That was cruel. Again, a sport I know nowt about, but I enjoyed that. And it seems even going down to a bronze was still a brilliant achievement.
First time since 1912 we've got a medal in the gymnastics, and we beat some of the traditional stronger opponents such as America and Russia. Great achievement, but it feels bittersweet having had the silver taken from us.
Thats the second time ive seen Japan complain to the judges and manage to turn around the result (i mentioned a page back how they overturned a decision in the judo :/ ) I accept appealing/turning over a low mark in Gymnastics is quite common - but still arrghhh !!! Well done to GB though !!!
Some great stuff on the gymnastics. No idea how they manage to do all those flips and twists. Makes me Realise how unfit I am and makes me want to join a gym.
What a fantastic result for the GB gymnastic team, I used to coach gymnastics, and to think that GB in my life time could get a medal is truly amazing. I guess with the iron curtain coming down, that opened up gymnastics to be on a more level playing field.
According to the BBC he's a bin dipper. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/olympics/2012/athletes/635aedc9-c386-43b6-8154-0066a8677ad3 I find that offensive.
The BBC know **** all, he was born in Hull and still fights out of St Paul's boxing Club in the Marketplace.
Clicking on his profile and they rightly state he is from Hull. At least one of our other boxers are from Liverpool, so I suspect some ****tard pushed the wrong button.
Going back to the gymnastics, I only caught the end of it on the highlights programme which didn't explain why we got bumped from Silver to Bronze. Can anyone explain it for me please?
Dunno if this clears it up? http://uk.eurosport.yahoo.com/news/olympic-gymnastics-medal-reshuffle-fair-003135278.html
I couldn't open the link as it's blocked by work, but just read up on it on the BBC. To my untrained eye it looked like the japanese gymnast fell off the pommel horse, but what do I know. I see the US swimming coach has made veiled allegations against the Chinese swimmer in the 400m individual medley after she swam the final 50m faster than the man who won gold in the same event.
Its all to do with whether he landed or not. Initially he was judged not to have but he clearly did, he just lost the move in the dismount. The fact that literally everyone involved with UK gymnastics says it was the right decision tells you everything.
Gonna watch England v Brazil ladies tonight should be a good game, see if Alukos sister can score, she seems a bit powderpuff so far. The last match was great, the Cameroon team kicked seven bells out of us and was amazed nobody got sent off, great entertainment (plus we won)
