All sport is about fitter, stronger, faster. The Williams girls' success is down to the vision of one working class man: their dad, Richard. His efforts showed us all what can be achieved with the right kind of commitment. To suggest that their overwhelming successes relates to some sort of emasculation is crass in the extreme. Why do we have to make excuses when other races win through in a one-to-one contest? Happened in athletics and boxing back in the day. Happening in F1 today. Tedious and embarrassing.
Why can't we just accept the fact that due diligence pays off - and applaud supreme effort?

Well said Brix, it was the same when Navratilova was winning everything, just because she wasn't a pin-up in the Kournikova mould she was always subjected to the snide remarks that go with the territory. The Williams sisters are much stronger natural athletes and allied to their skill and the biggest advantage of all, their will to win, they have dominated for the last decade or more.
Getting back to the OP, no, the women should receive no more than 60% of the men's prize money commensurate with their time on court...
