It seemed that he wanted to go himself, like he knows he won't be playing if he stays. He seemed happy to be off to Millwall originally. I don't think there's been any "I'd love to have a crack at the PL and am really looking forward to it" sort of thing from him.

The stated reason for the stall was that they they wished to see how his injury progressed.

His injury and expected recovery period was well known about prior to yesterday evening.

So Hackney not being sold in time is a more credible reason, but if it's the case then why not say so? And why would it lead to the deal being parked for the foreseeable?
