What should happen to Cam Archer?

Ballard will end up going somewhere like Cardiff I think. Be a regular starter for them and if he does well again in the Championship move to another side. Coming back makes no sense for him or us at this stage.

I didn’t realise Piroe was 6’1, if there is still interest then he’s more the type of striker we should be targeting. I think we’ll probably give Downs another chance though and not sign a new one unless Archer leaves.

Just imagine the meltdown if Larin got injured...<laugh>

I still have to wonder if Tonda can get a tune out of Downs as he is a perfect alternative on paper to Larin.

Don’t shoot me, stranger things have happened.
He could go double or quits on BBD and maybe get something out of him too.
That would make him the greatest manager in the history of the sport.

BBD has 11 goals from 57 games in the Championship, in the 18 months that we've been loaning him out.

That's not amazing, but it feels miles better than Downs could achieve. If Tonda wants to give BBD another chance next season, I'd be open to that. Whereas Downs, to me, feels like he's in the same category as Bazunu.

I dunno, I'm not ready to give up on him yet. I just feel with a bit of fortune he could come good.

Take Larin for example. Would we have turned on him (and totally shot his confidence) if he hadnt scored with the first touch of the ball?

If Downs had connected v Wrexham (rather than Jack) on the opening game of the season in minute 96, it would have been a different Downs IMO

We need at least two strikers that are fairly prolific, like one that will score 15-20 plus and another that will score 10-15 plus.
I think Larin will be the first of those if he can stay fit but we need a second striker who can back him up and rotate that's why I think we should sign Piroe as he has scored an average of nearly 20 league goals a season in the Championship over four seasons.
BBD could come back if Archer goes but I agree with Brendy that Downs shouldn't be one of our options next season.

With the talk of a £20m-plus offer for Charles from Leeds, I would be quite happy if that ultimately became £20m-plus-Piroe.
Yep him and Larin as our interchangeable bigger strikers would be excellent.

I do still wonder if we want the new 10 who can give Azaz competition will also be able to play up top, just not in the mould of those two I mentioned.

Yeah, he's big enough and can hold the ball up but I think Piroe is a different type of striker, more the type who drops deep and plays passes and not so much a big lead the line centre forward. I watched his goals from 24/25, only two were headers and both of those were free headers in the six yard box. He could possibly play with Larin or instead of him - I think he was a lone striker for Leeds but Leeds also had James, Solomon and Gnonto in their squad so we might need more goal threat from wide areas, similar to when Lambert would drop deep and we had Guly/Lallana/J-Rod/Puncheon running beyond him.

Admittedly i haven’t ever really paid attention to Piroe, I kinda always got the impression he was just a guy that scored 1 in 4 chances and doesn’t really contribute much besides. Despite his height I didn’t think he was a guy that can be an out ball to hold it up and bring others into play. If that’s true I don’t want him as our Stewart replacement. But as I say, I haven’t really watched him so my assumptions are likely wrong. Feel like Leeds fans never rated him despite his decent numbers with goals

The Leeds fans I know don’t mind him, but not his biggest fans. They all despised Bamford though who seems to be fairly well thought of in general so maybe they are weirdos
