What’s to say we’re going to play a back four. Wouldn’t be at all surprised to see us playing 3-4-3/5-2-3 in the majority of away games at least. We don’t want a likeminded replacement though. We want somebody better. Giles is not a premier league standard defender.
As good as Giles is going forward, defending isn’t his strong point. All the decent prem teams are putting a 6’2 almost CB at full back. Spend 20 on someone like that, make us more defensively solid and it makes sense to recoup 8mil.
I still wouldn’t have him as a LWB in a 5. There are better options out there and we need to upgrade. What’s to say we’re going to play a back four. Wouldn’t be at all surprised to see us playing 3-4-3/5-3-2 in the majority of away games at least.
And replace him with who and for how much though? We're in different territory now and a like-minded replacement could cost much more?
It's a tricky one for the club, he's got a year left and we need money, saying that he'd be a decent back up player, but how much would his new contract be as a PL player and would it be too much for a back up player? You must log in or register to see media
I posted a few days ago my surprise that we were being linked with left backs, a Greek and an Italian, but a potential sale of Giles would explain this, rather like all the goalkeeper interest relates to Pandur. It's a tricky one for the club, he's got a year left and we need money, saying that he'd be a decent back up player, but how much would his new contract be as a PL player and would it be too much for a back up player?

Keep tree as well cos he’s the boyMcburnie, Hughes, Slater and Belloumi are the only players that are essential too keep.
The rest can be replaced.
Didn’t he do his hamstring last night? His contract is probably being sorted right now.Wilfried Singo of Galatasary and Ivory Coast is definitely the type of RB Hull could do with in the PL.
Yeah he did.Didn’t he do his hamstring last night? His contract is probably being sorted right now.
Very Seri'esque.. not sure he's what Serge wants in midfield.I thought Inao Oulaï was very impressive for Ivory Coast. Trabzonspor want €30 million for him.
Said a couple of weeks ago, sentimentality has to go out of the window unfortunately..I posted a few days ago my surprise that we were being linked with left backs, a Greek and an Italian, but a potential sale of Giles would explain this, rather like all the goalkeeper interest relates to Pandur.
Giles links up well with mcburnie, I'd include him as a fifth.Mcburnie, Hughes, Slater and Belloumi are the only players that are essential too keep.

If we only have 100mil selling Giles for 8mil is potentially mad, as we then need to buy 3 full backs and that's a fair old chunk of our budget gone.Well if we've got over a hundred million to spend I don't see much need for shifting Giles on for buttons then?
