Entertaining race. I was just about to call George dead and buried when let Kimi get the inside, now there's a flicker of hope.

Incredible from Lewis all weekend. The next three races all power circuits so Ferrari should struggle, but we'll see. If they can fight in Austria i'll say it's game on.

Not so sure he would've won without the VSC, he would've had to pass George and Kimi. But you gotta make the most of your luck when you get it, and he did.
Meh, so what, England 1-2-3 is what really counts.

Definitely, Definitely getting his fair share of lucky this season and other drivers having reliability problems, cant remember last time Hamilton had a mechanical problem, especially compared to his teammates down the years.

He won the race by 20 seconds, he had the pace , the Mercs didn’t, he was more than .5 second faster a lap over both of them

Catching and passing are 2 different things, he saved time in the VSC and I don't think he would've passed Kimi that easily.
It's moot point though.

When Lewis came in under

When he came in for his hard tyres under the vsc he had a positive tyre offset against George of about 4 or 5 laps, and simply sped off and out paced them. At the time of the VSC when on the medium tyres iirc his lead was almost 16 seconds so he would have been around 5 or 6 seconds after his stop if there hadn’t been one and he had stoped normally and would have had a far bigger positive tyre offset in comparison to the Mercs.

Interesting that Lando is saying if that Ferrari had a better engine then they would be dominating . They are the class of the field when it comes to cornering in his opinion and if they can upgrade the engine then they would be beating Mercedes.

What can I say? It's a dream! :)
So deserved,he has never ever givven up. All through the ground effect era Lewis was on the back foot but he kept on trying but wasn`t happy.
I was really willing Lewis to open up the gap to George and he did and won by 20 seconds.Don`t know if it was Hamilton`s newer tyres or not,but that Ferrari had real pace. Roll on Austria.

I knew saying Merc might win every race after Monaco, might be a good way to prevent that from happening!

Really strong weekend from Ferrari, they probably had the pace for pole and definitely had an advantage on degradation come Sunday, not only that but they drove the strategy(!) and used that to put Merc onto their back foot. Hamilton may or may not have won without the VSC, but the Ferrari in his hands was definitely the quickest thing out there today and the victory was well deserved.

The weekend has rather lit a fire under the championship. Did we see an impact from the hot compression test that was masked by the nature of Monaco and makes Merc beatable? Antonelli passing Russell having looked off the pace for much of the weekend, seemed like another significant moment (like being right there in Canada, before Russell’s failure) that suggests he is moving beyond Russell as a complete package, what will this mean if Merc now has to worry about Ferrari? Has this Ferrari upgrade flipped the tables on tire wear with Merc and what can they do now with the ADUO advantage they have over all the other leading teams? Has this uplift in performance from Hamilton, gotten to Leclerc or can he bounce back and get into the fight?

Interesting that Carlos Sainz was the last Ferrari winner before Lewis.
