I have heard of that day but wasn't there. Seaburn Casuals did not exist then though was "Vauxies" at the time.

The name wasn't really important, Chelsea in 1979 weren't called Headhunters.

There were groups there from Sunderland, Peterlee, Shotton, Seaburn, etc ...

... Chelsea didn't enjoy the return match at Roker.

Its part of life in Ireland, over here, especially last year in Sunderland, it was a big deal.

And again, as much as I understand the gripe of many of these people, how many unemployed scratters went down to the city centre with cans and a balaclava.

Its a **** scenario.

Hope to god Kier Starmer gets ousted soon but at the same time, I have no faith in any of these people leading us. The idea Farage is anything but a gobshite is hilarious.

Interesting dilemma for more left leaning people is seeing the rapid decline of circumstances in the country and knowing that people are not going to relent until they get a government they want, if someone like Farage somehow doesn't get in we're simply kicking the can down the road. For what it's worth I think Farage ends up hamstrung by the bureaucracy and people will look further rightward.

In the spirit of honest inquiry, what are the options from here? Do you think keeping Labour in even longer (win the next GE) can somehow quell the circumstances that are clamouring for Farage? Genuinely curious where people think we can go from here.

A change to the voting system should be looked at, similar to Australia, if you dont vote you get fined.
Too many happy to moan about the current state of the country without being arsed to get out of bed and vote.
Would actually help people educate themselves on what they are voting for.

I spent a day with a kind hearted motherly somalian heritage woman yesterday who is running a youth project getting young people of all faiths and cultures to help their community. She’s also got a role funded by the system working on behalf of the royal family. Travelled here as a child on her own to avoid war.
