Prediction League World Cup week 1 - 14-16 June

Hello and welcome to the World Cup edition of the Prediction League.

The game weeks for this edition will be as follows:

Week 1 - 14-16 June
Week 2 - 22-24 June
Week 3 - 24-26 June
Week 4 (Last 32) - 28 June-4 July
Week 5 (Last 16) - 4-7 July
Week 6 (QFs) - 9-12 July
Week 7 (SFs) - 14-15 July
Week 8 (3rd/4th & Final) - 18-19 July

The format of the predictions will remain the same as those for the usual Prediction League with the usual 3 sets of outcomes to predict.

So here goes for the first set of predictions:

SCORING & RULES

Game 1 - 3 points for each exact score prediction or 1 point for a correct result prediction (ie. home win, away win or draw). Play your joker against one of the fixtures to double your points for that fixture

Game 2 - 2 points for a correct 'home' goalscorer and 3 points for a correct 'away' goalscorer

Game 3 - goals scored in selected fixture will be added to your points total

BONUS POINTS
Game 1 - 5 bonus points for correctly predicting all 8 results. 2 bonus points for correctly predicting 3 or more scores

Game 2 - 1 bonus point for correctly predicting both goalscorers

There were no correct score or result bonus points this week with only 5 correct scores predicted - OddRiver had the 1-1 draw between Belgium and Egypt, EasyBreezer had the 1-1 draw between Saudi Arabia and Uruguay, LTL had Ivory Coast's 1-0 win against Ecuador, fran had the 2-2 draw between Iran and New Zealand and RAWMOK had the Ivory Coast win.

For the goalscorers Havertz and Musiala scored at home but there were no away scorers so no bonus points.
