Monaco must be the hardest one of all to pick a winner, it`s a race whose outcome is or seems to be determined by chance,a real lottery.
For that reason I`m going for Lewis. The Ferrari is looking very quick and he`s seems to be enjoying his racing so much more again.
So, I think he stands as good a chance as anyone else.If he`s leading after the last round of pitstops, the race is his.

Yeah, I can make a case for Ferrari, McLaren or Merc, but my feeling is this is Ferrari’s best chance of the year and it doesn’t look like it will be very hot, so that’s also probably even more in their favour. I’ll be more bold and say if a Ferrari gets on the front row, they’ll win.

However I’ve gone for Leclerc even though I don’t think he’s been having a particularly good season. These rules punish attacking qualifying laps, but this should be the only race this year where that’s not really the case and the drivers can push through the whole lap, plus he always seems to go well here. For those reasons this also feels like his best chance to win this year.

I hope Ferrari do it .

They may have an advantage with the smaller turbos taking less time to spool up ( I read autosports column ) or it won’t make a blind bit of difference .

I’ve gone for Lewis as I’d just like to see him win it .

A Ferrari win by whoever will be fine by me .

Unless of course it’s a Williams 1 -2 .

It’s an interesting weekend for Russell. Ideally he needs to start catching Antonelli, but he absolutely can’t afford another low score. Risk/reward balance is so different at this circuit that maybe he just has to play it safe/sensible, even if he drops a little further behind.

Good news from his perspective if the big points aren’t accessible to the Merc drivers this weekend then.

Surprised to see Verstappen in a RedBull up so high, and the McLarens so low. Times seem quite slow though, so maybe quite a lot of performance still to come.

Many felt Hamilton achieved his success at Mercedes because it was the best car and his team mates weren't good enough to compete with him, apart from one season when Nico Rosberg clinched it.
Since many believe that Charles is one of the fastest drivers out there I would like to see Lewis beat him this season to silence his own critics. For different reasons would also like Ferrari to take the team award this season. It will be good to see the dominance of Mercedes and Red Bull challenged. Yes, Mclaren took it last year but with a Merc engine.

Interesting that Audi managed top 10 with their big turbo and Mclarens only 6th and 9th with their short wheelbase cars!
Merc doing well despite the ban on 'hot compression ratio' kicking in on the 1st June. Mind you this isn't a power circuit, so maybe we will see what happens at the next race.

Hope Fred is feeling better soon.

60 point gap if the grid is the result (and it's a dry Monaco race).

The title could be sown up before the summer break the way things are going.

No Ferrari on the front row is a bit of a surprise, but should make for an interesting first few laps at least, it’s probably the best grid we could have hoped for from an entertainment perspective and I’m looking forward to seeing how Kimi stacks up against Max.

A setback is surely coming for Kimi, but right now he’s absolutely going out and grabbing control of the championship. You can argue the car advantage is a big help, but there was a lot of competition today and to edge them all out under that kind of pressure is very impressive from one so young/inexperienced.

Ooof, Leclerc crossed the S2 line on that last lap, with the broken suspension and puncture only 0.3 behind Antonelli. That was going to be a monster lap.

I was surprised no one else did what Charles did and run a few laps on the same tyre, it seems to have worked at a few GPs.

So, here we go. One day someone will explain to me why I'm going to watch it.
Saying that, Max and Kimi on the front row might be interesting.
Edit: ok, that was different.

I can only assume Lewis and Charles are just looking after their tyres, no reason to be almost 6 seconds behind after 10 laps , unless they’re just very slow in comparison to the Merc of Antonelli
