I wonder if the men's squad budget is lower because funds have been diverted to the women's squad, after their success in reaching the WSL?

However, this is unwelcome news if true.
We haven't had much negativity around the place for the past few weeks.
I think most of us have been looking forward to a Summer of progress and improvement.

What's the wider weather pattern of opinion, on CL for instance? Or even on ITTV?
Is there any talk about this Summer's budget and comparison to last Summer?

If Dick hadn't said that his source was Royston I might have given it some credence. The most reliable source is Cawley, although TC has been known to be spot on.

By the way, I don't think anyone here would question Royston's credentials with regard to being a Charlton fan.
Any supporter who goes to all or nearly all away games (as I understand he does) is above reproach on that score.
And I hope the 'real' title was not meant to be a comparison with any member of this forum.
I have nothing but admiration for Charlton fans who commit time and resources to supporting our team on the road.
Those of us who cannot, or choose not to (for any number of reasons) are not however any the less a Charlton fan because of it.
Royston is a real Charlton fan. One who is still welcome to post here whenever he wishes.
There may however be a pattern emerging.
We did have the business with Elfs relaying messages from Royston - last Summer I think it was - regarding my fitness to be moderator and the big boost in membership that would follow (several ex-members and pals of his) should I step aside.
However that did not come to pass, when I eventually did as asked in November. And the whole episode was pretty unpleasant in my view.
This time (at present) we have no attacks on members, rather a claim that the Club is being less than up front with supporters about the 2026-27 budget. Based on previous experience, I would say we do have reason to be sceptical. At least until some evidence might come our way.
In a nutshell? It's silly season again regarding CAFC rumours.

I just think DP’s got some front to post on here after previous events, without a very public and very profound apology and while he still has the avatars on here and on ITWV which he currently still has.
A reminder of the unedifying events of last Winter. As you say, not an indicator that he has moved on.
I don't mind either Royston or DickPlumb posting there again. Especially if they aren't having a pop.
No regular Not606 member was targeted this time. The comment about Royston being a real fan can be taken as each member will.
Basically true enough, and a given in my view. I don't think anyone here would dispute it.
Any other meaning between the lines?
