Thanks to the efforts of volunteers it's not all doom and gloom in the natural world in Kent. The rewilding in Blean includes the introduction of species like bison, rare goats, pigs, beavers, highland cattle, all of which are doing a sterling job for the natural world.

Who’d have thought that Bison could transition ? Funny old world. Anyway, as predicted, they are spreading across the country. How long until we get our first Bison related fatality I wonder.

The Wildwood Trust says five European bison are "thriving" at Castletown Estate near Rockcliffe.

The Kent ones are in an enclosed area, managed by experienced rangers. The public aren't allowed near them.

Thank God for that. I’ve seen huge herds of Bison in Yellowstone NP, up close and personal and they are scary creatures. Responsible for more human deaths than the Grizzlies which also roam the park.

Presumably they were once native to the UK ?
 
Likely until the last Ice Age.
The UK was still connected to mainland Europe at that time.
The Thames flowed into the Rhine before that river reached the North Sea.
 
Not for Bison or Grizzly bears.
They are content to remain in the first safe Country they enter.
