On the other hand I think the rent they pay halves after relegation, with London's taxpayers making up the difference.

I suppose they cant sublet it out for concerts etc?

Yeah, might be wrong but I think they only take a very small percentage of food and drink sales too and have no power to negotiate new deals.

It's been a terrible move for everyone involved really. All caused by the nonsense insistence from Coe of it retaining an 'athletics legacy'.

Brilliant news, as has already been mentioned - best keeper we have had since Niemi(sorry SKD)! Could easily move to a Premier League side but we have left quite the impression on him, even with our self sabotaging!

This will hopefully be a domino effect and others will sign extensions and stay, all the media bollocks is just that....a big load of bollocks! The siege mentality this season is going to be unreal, I am here for it.

Who would have thought in just a few weeks, we have gone from Tonda getting sacked, from players wanting to take us to court etc to the best GK for 20 years signing on when he doesn't have to!

And to think some people weren't keen on us signing him, because he is from Israel!!!

This has shades of SKD staying when he could have left, this guy will hopefully become as much of a Saints Legend as the great man himself!

I remember in the post playoffs malaise suggestions he would go to Hull. Or that might have been Scienza. Or both

Good start to the business but also arguably signings needed to sort of stand still. Albeit having both Peretz and Larin from the start of the season should hopefully be huge

People not wanting to sign someone because of where they come from are ****ing idiots. Just saying.

Also, the maddest bastard we have had since Boruc :emoticon-0148-yes:

Laugh if you like, but Peretz signing on a permanent has really given me hope that we'll win the whole thing.

I know it's asking for the moon and the stars but if we keep 2 out of the 3 I'll genuinely believe HMS piss the league is a go. It's the hope that kills.

I see no reason why we shouldn't be aiming to win the league. Doing so would make the end of last season a blessing in disguise. Also, we now have two clubs in the division to dislike intensely, which gives us four grudge matches for the price of two. It's win-win from where I'm sitting

I'm not an accountant but I think West Ham's position is worse than Leicester's in that it seems to go beyond not complying with the football regulations and into the territory where they have an actual cash flow problem. They have £200m of transfer debt, owe £100m borrowed against future transfer income, have taken out a short term loan of £120m secured against future Premier League TV rights money and have a £40m overdraft with Barclays due to be repaid in July. And this is a club that made a £100m loss while they were in the Premier League.

Without having looked into the details, I have heard from a few quarters that they are in very deep **** and absolutely could not afford to get relegated. I've also heard that London council tax payers are going to get stung over that stadium, but not sure how true that is.

That is true re the stadium.

Gonna cost you Londoners another £2.5m Pa.
