If I remember the Copa America final was played in the USA. It had half time “ entertainment “ on and the interval took 26 mins as it ran over. It also kicked off 80 mins late to start with due to overcrowding and other stuff.

They extended the half time from 15 to 25 minutes for the Shakira performance, it only actually ran over by one minute.
The managers kicked up a fuss, as they said it risked the players health, but they left the rule in so it can happen again.
To be fair, if she stills looks like she did when I last saw her on MTV, I'd rather watch an extra 10 minutes of her dancing half naked around a stage than a 0-0 draw between two south American countries.
If I was Iran I would pull out citing no time to prepare, even if they are granted visas. Its too late to get a replacement. 3 teams left in the group and 2 qualify. The 3rd place team probably won't as they will have played less games making it difficult to get though as best qualifiers. In other works, it makes the yanks look even more ****ing stupid.
yeah. I relooked it up. Half time is a chance for a pee and refreshments to me but so be it.
