I said fabled far right, don’t twist it Blond
There’s others on this thread that do that, your better than that
Apologies marra, I totally misread your post as someone having a go at the left and dismissing last nights trouble from the right.... I shouldn't speak for others, but it looks like my incorrect assumption reply may have confused others as well (I believe N Rocks replied similar).

The leaders from the last 30 years have allowed this country to get in the **** state its in today.
Unfortunately the new era of politics seem to be let's appeal to the highest % of swing voters to get in to power. It doesn't seem to matter anymore about our values it's just about getting in to number 10.
It seems the best policy is to just criticise everyone's else's rather than have any of your own.
The country is in a real mess at the moment, which just leads to opportunistic like farage and Trump.
Neither has any idea how to run a country, yet promise to solve every problem over night.
Thing is people are so sick of the state the country is in, they believe them. I also think the vast majority of people voting for these idiots don't actually have the first idea about politics.
I'm no whizz myself, I sick to death of Labour and the tories lies, corruption and inability to run our country properly. However one thing I do know is Farage is a million times worse than anything we've seen before
Good points marra, I agree with most of them, however I believe Starmer is trying his best to sort out our society - and would not taint him with Blairs brush...

What's your thoughts on Starmers performance so far?

With his ability to climb poiitics greasy pole and his immense legal background. You would expected him to come up wot something better than smash the gangs and to give millions to the French

He is also unlucky about Mandelson

Brexit was an absolute gift to the French ...

... a gift that we'll keep giving.

Just whataboutry, he know fine well this has nothing to do with the ‘left’. Any decent person needs to call out the disgusting behaviour and those trying to whip it up (no surprise who is). No need whatsoever to link it to other mindless vandalism that happened a while back.

He's actually impressed my slightly more than I thought he would. The situation was so bad it will take a while for any progress to actually show.
I think there are signs we are heading in the right direction so I'm hopeful things could improve.
I just worry the population are similar to football fans, If results aren't instant they want a change at the top which I also think contributes to the problem just as much as the politicians

There are a lot of partisan people who thought the rioting during BLM was justified, these same people (all over social media) are quick to say what is happening in Southampton isn't justified. The problem in this country is the feeling of a double standard, this is where quips like "two tier policing" have come from, you don't have to agree with it or even like it, but you have to deal with reality because it will bite you, people are pîssed off.

Cracking post mate, rare on a politics thread imo.

Thanks marra, totally agree.

As I have said the statue stuff a while back was disgraceful but it has nothing to do with this. Some whataboutry from no doubt a Farage sympathiser.

What we are seeing in Southampton is disgraceful and needs calling out not being supported by an opportunistic vile politician. Hatred and division is all he offers.

His performance has been spineless, if he had stood up to the left of his party and not carried out multiple u turns he would be thought of a lot better, then Mandelson was a massive mistake also.

Wrong thread this is about the far right and on that note Farage has doubled down on his vile nonsense. Any person with some decency needs to call this out.

That is an impression that has been levelled against him, he needs to pull a massive rabbit out of the bag.

It was my fault, I was replying to Isn 7.40pm reply yesterday. It is relevant to how Starmer is performing when the far right are kicking off. I thought Starmer performed well during PMQs v Farage.

Well this is an answer to a question on this thread, this thread is also about the far left or commonly known now as progressive parties with is a massive joke.

The sad thing is he’s doing this to get the power to reduce taxes on the wealthy and people are falling for it. Some will get long sentences as a result and lose access tk their families.
He also offers tax avoidance and reducing public services.

A bad joke would be having Farage as PM, we would be up to our necks in a war for a start. Is Starmer perfect? Far from but the alternatives from the non progressive parties would be disastrous as PMs.
