Yeah, apart from - coming off the bench to secure 3 points against Blackburn in a game where we were awful;scoring with a lovely header to get us 3 points at Wrexham where otherwise we'd have probably drawn (think about the implications of that), and coming off the bench to score against Derby and secure us 3 points (think about the implications of that too) - what has Lewis Koumas ever done for us?
Put like that :emoticon-0138-think

Adama Diomande scored 3 goals for us last time we were promoted.

I don't think he was good enough for the Premier League either.
Strange comparison. Diomande was in his mid twenties and injured for a lot of the season, and I agree not good enough. I don't know about Koumas and I'd frankly trust Sergei to know, but he's still only 20, learned his trade at Liverpool, and has genuine pace. Not sure any other forward we have would have scored those goals against Blackburn and Derby. If we got him back on loan for a season to see how he develops (of course he wouldn't be first choice), I personally think he'd be a good acquisition.

I think you answered your own post Kingston..."Not sure any other forward we have would have scored those goals against Blackburn and Derby"... thankfully we're not playing them for a while...

We’re going to want 10 new players at least. Our squad was already too big at the end of the season. The loan players, other than Geldhart, are all obvious and easy spaces to free up. I do not expect us to bring a single one of them back next season other than Geldhart. None of them really made a case for a return in the championship if we’re being honest let alone the premier league.

On top of those loan players we are also going to have to find new homes for Dowell, Akintola, Famewo, Omur, Destan, Gyabi, Phillips, Jacob…

The only one that I think that has any chance of being here next season is Amir and I think even he is more likely to not return.

We get 2 loan spots in the premier league, using one of them on Koumas would be an absolute waste. We’d also then have to register him in the 25 man squad and lose a squad place.

Don't know how good Koumas could have been or what he could have scored, if he played the same amount of games this season as Joseph,Gelhardt,McBurnie he might even have scored more then some of them.

Koumas is being a bit hard done by here. He played 627 minutes, so less than 7 full games in total, scoring what proved to be the winning goal twice, and rarely actually played in his favoured position.
What is his ‘favoured’ position? He came here as a winger, we usually played him as a winger and he was ****e at everything a winger is supposed to be good at.

I’d be skeptical about bringing some the loans back even if we didn’t get promoted but come on, we’re talking about the premier league. Jaden was our most talented player and didn’t get much of a luck in. The step up, especially for the wide players and match winners, is massive. West Ham got relegated with Summerville. If we have ambitions of staying up, koumas would be nowhere near our squad, in which case, it makes no sense to get him.

Loan players count towards the 25-man squad regardless of age.
No, Under-21 loan players do not count towards a Premier League club's 25-man squad limit. [1, 2]
Under Premier League rules, clubs are permitted to register an unlimited number of Under-21 players over and above the 25-man senior squad limit. To qualify as an Under-21 player for the current season, a player must have been born on or after January 1st of the qualifying year (e.g., for the 2025/26 season, born on or after January 1, 2004). [1, 2, 3, 4]
Because of this rule, any eligible U21 player—whether permanently signed or brought in on loan—can play in the Premier League without occupying one of the 25 senior squad registration spots. [1]
Note: This rule is specific to the Premier League. If you are wondering about the lower tiers (such as the EFL Championship), loan players must be registered within the 25-man squad, even if they are under the age of 21

Agreed.

A lot of promoted sides have this problem.

I believe it would be way better to sign two great players in midfield 30mil/each than 5-6 for 10/mil each.
Strong Midfield is key if Hull wants to stay up.
Therefore must target and find a couple midfielders who can create and distribute under pressure.
As for loans..Delap if Alonso will let him go..which I doubt he will.
