Man United cast offs and look where they are now... It's an error many managers and clubs have made over the years.

Rashford is incredibly lazy at times, and has always been overrated. Many will point out that sometimes he simply cannot be bothered to run, and doesn't help out defensively.

McTomminay is very basic, he's not better than what we have. He's simply looked better in one of the poorer leagues. It feels mad to say that about Italy, but it's true.

Stay well away from both imo anyway. It comes across in my eyes as lazy and expensive recruitment... Anyone could do that.

Look where they are now? Ones at Napoli and the other has spent the season at Barcelona

I don't think this summer will be much different to last, because there's not any indication or admission that the strategy isn't fit for purpose. Instead all we've had is Howe and the journalists listing excuses about last summer.

In fact Howe has already said the strategy won't change, but apparently having Wilson will make getting in targets over the line faster, so I guess we will find out soon.

I don't think we'll get our preferred targets anyway, because that's how it is for most clubs. The targets we land will be the players the big clubs didn't fancy and the clubs that appear to have much better recruitment teams avoid like the plague.

I'll be very surprised if we sign anyone even remotely exciting this summer, because

1. Our top targets will hold out, wait for a bigger club, and we'll get publicly refused like last summer.

2. The back up options are a huge drop off from the top targets, because we only look at a very small pool of players, and appear to rule out any thing between, because it's obviously seen as too risky.

What does everyone think? Will it be better than last summer? Will there be a change in strategy?

Nothing wrong with the status of the clubs.

Barcelona don't want rashy, he was obviously just filling a gap temporarily. They paid money for one of our best players... We need to improve on what we have.

Napoli struggled last season and there's no money in the league...if you sent our cms there's they'd be head a shoulders above him.

Stay away imo... Get out there and find players like rayan, krupi etc.. They're out there.

I'm not saying don't go for players like Kroupi but I think the two players mentioned are far better quality at this point in time

I 100% rate Rashford ahead of Gordon, if we could get him for £30m we'd be stupid not to be in for him but again, wage request is probably not compliant with our salary model.

McTomminay is a very good player, wouldn't judge him based off his time at Man U - 27 goals in 80 for Napoli, 29 goals in 255 for Man U... clearly developed and wasn't really flavour of the month under Amorim.

So with Tripps, Ramsdale, Targett and Kraft officially gone, that's around £400k pw off the wage bill immediately, encouraging along with the quick Gordon transfer.

Schar staying is a good thing, we certainly weren't good in defence without him.

I don’t see Rashford or McTominay being anything other than expensive, unsaleable disasters. Puzzled how anyone thinks otherwise. Rashford, look at his Villa time, rubbish. McTominay is a bit of a nothing player, a late box arriver is about it, something we just don’t use or need.

Odd stance from some on here. Like nothing was learned from Wissa, something I fear Howe hasn’t.

The one time I wouldn’t mind an Eddie Howe transfer and we do nothing - Hayden Hackney off to Everton for just 10m. Maybe we’ll offer 40m for Garner…

It just feels like it’s going to be another one of those summers. Still the fans keep telling themselves Eddies the man, I read someone trying to blame Wilson for not signing Rayan…..

We will be sitting here well into July having done absolutely **** all. The deal with Brighton is done as far as I can see elsewhere.

Last Summer we spent our time losing out to the likes of Man U, Liverpool, City, etc. Going to be interesting if we now start to lose out to the likes of Brighton.
