I'd assumed this would be the case until this statement, there's no reason to come out in support of him if you think he's about to get banned.

I thought the original clause was 20m as did a number of others. It seems like past three years it's halved or more.
They didn't have to say anything other than they'd wait for the outcome. Doubling down like this just looks terrible.
