I honestly didn't know that you could see orca off the north east coast, but I've just looked it up and it seems to be a pod that's been returning there for a couple of years. With all the seals and fish around the Farne islands, it's an ideal hunting ground for them. It could be that the pod becomes established there and becomes a regular sighting. Fantastic if it happens.
Didn’t they start popping up during lockdown. I’d Love to see wild ones, might have to go one day.

Was working offshore in Gabon about 10 year ago and we seen all kinds, the highlight being a sperm whale and its cub that came within touching distance of the rig.

They are amazing creatures. Went swimming with them in their natural surroundings in the Arctic circle with my daughters 20 years ago. Absolutely fantastic
