Claim to fame: I stood next to Paul Lemon's dad in the Roker End once while his lad was playing.

Ridiculous, isn't it? There's plenty of bands and singers from Newcastle that the could use. How about "Don't let me be misunderstood" by the Animals? Or something by AC/DC as Brian Johnson is a Geordie? Or Lindesfarne?

Yep. But so many really believe this stuff. Many really believe that they are on the brink of signing Kvara , Bellingham and Kane.

It must be awful to live in such a fog, it never lifts for them.

Well they do say that the fog on the Tyne is all theirs apparently. They can keep it as far as I’m concerned. I’d rather have the sun on the Wear.
