Showing my age here but remember when it was fun to collect and swap cards as a kid with mates.

Not now its all about ripping parents off and making under privileged kids miss out. Ive just paid 24 quid for 2 World cup albums for my lads with 1 packet of stickers free per album. Id do anything right now to live in the 80s again. The world was a much happier place

So would I - I'd be in my thirties again and horny as a butchers dog <laugh>

Seriously though parents get ripped of all the time nowadays. I feel sorry for the families that cannot afford team shirts etc must make the parents feel terrible.

Its the parents that struggle that im referring too mate. We took our 3 kids out for a game of bowling last week followed by 1 game of crazy golf and it cost us the best part of 100 quid and thats before drinks and snacks were included.

Soft target, mate. No one wants to hurt or upset their kids so they'll pay up, even if it leaves them short themselves. Companies know that and play to it to squeeze more out of people. It's horrible, no two ways about it.

I remember getting packs of footie stickers out of my pocket money as a kid. We'd do the swaps as normal, but covered school books in them as well. Funny, I never managed to fill the sticker albums but was only a few short of doing it, even pooling together with my younger brother (we both had our own albums). We always seemed to be the same few short, I wonder why??? My youngest brother finished the first two Panini Premier League ones, though he had to send off to get the last few.

Truth is it was ever thus and the 80’s wasn’t a happier place. Some things were better but the outright prejudice and inequality was worse in most respects with the exception of wealth which is even less equal now than it was then and it was pretty unequal then having experienced about a year of my dad being on strike.
