Looking forward to the meltdown when Tonda and Spors both get binned after this and Parsons stays

I still don't realistically see how Tonda stays unless by some miracle the FA decide to let him off.

Parsons needs to go, his rocket scientist behaviour at The Riverside alone is enough to say he isn't fit to run the club.

Spors has managed not to be implicated at all so far, even if it feels unlikely. Imo whether he stays or goes will have the biggest impact on next season, because if we lose both him and Tonda at the same time then the whole plan for next season needs to be reset with no time.

Club historian Duncan Holley has been posting on SaintsWeb and suggesting that the club is planning to publish a full version of events for fans on what happened and how it happened, following the conclusion of the corporate investigation

These are Duncan's two posts put together:

Maybe people should hold fire until PP, TE and the club give a full nuts and bolts explanation of what actually happened. I genuinely think fans will be less inclined to throw everyone under the bus when hearing how it all unravelled and how events have been blown out of all proportion. Yes communication has been way too slow. PP is on leave this week as are a lot of people connected with the club as its half-term and traditionally a quiet week for football at the season's end

I hold my hands up that I know PP and like him. He is fanatically committed and has done many good things off the pitch as well as becoming a fervent fan. You should see how nervous he gets before a match. Yes he has made mistakes and has admitted them, but my overriding message is castigating the manager and the CEO based solely on what the media and the EFL hearing have alleged reported is premature. PP and TE were integral to last season's success - let's not throw the baby out with the bathwater.

I think when PP went up for the first leg he was under the impression that the crime was silly but hardly consequential and that an apology to Gibson would be the end of the matter. Many other owners/chairmen would have accepted the apology and moved on but Gibson sensed his chance to ensure his club now had two bites at the cherry. Now if PP had decided to ignore "the issue" he risked upsetting Gibson so he (rightly imo) chose the apology path.

From what I have heard of the 3 instances (and I gather there are only 3) they have been very much embellished by the media and Middlesbrough. TE is not the machiavellian character that is being portrayed and neither is he a bully.

The intern probably did feel pressurised but again the story is not as bad as some would like to make out. I am sure the club will give a thorough report back of exactly what happened when they all have a chance to get under one roof.

It would be a grave mistake if fan power drove out a manager who proved his worth and a CEO who was placed between a rock and a hard place. I know its human nature to seek scapegoats and we are still in various stages of shock, but lets condemn (or not) when we hear the club's version.

I think the poster making that statement is under the assumption that we are all pissed off purely because we unfairly blame the club for the EFLs punishment, but for many of us the problem is as much the very apparent amateurism as anything else and a sign that despite the upturn in results the Club is clearly still a shambles behind the scenes.

If the Club are really that convinced that the EFL have been corrupted by influence from Middlesbrough then maybe they should be bringing a civil case against the EFL, If not then they need to be showing us what they are going to do in practical terms to improve the running of the club and convincing us of their plan to secure promotion next season (imo the only way they can be forgiven, anything less is unacceptable after blowing it this season), not releasing a whinge fest 'its not our fault guv, but theres nothing we can do about it' statement - which is what I feel we might be getting based on that.

I'm not a CEO by any means, but if there was a crisis at work of this magnitude, I would (and it would be expected) cancel my holiday or cut it short.

It may upset his family that they can't go away, but it will upset them more when he is sacked and has no income.
Agreed. Though in fairness a CEO being on leave isn't the same as the average person, I'm sure he's still contactable.

The optics are terrible though. Biggest crisis of his tenure and he's spanning off on holiday.

Ha <laugh>

I've had pre-booked leave cancelled before because apparently Halloween and NYE are unforeseen events.

The ****ing CEO facing one of the biggest crisis in the clubs history can bloody well cancel.

****ing hell

Interesting and not surprising. Though I think he’s a wally, I don’t mind PP staying but in the commercial role he was in before. He’s been over-promoted to CEO and I don’t think he belongs at that level.

At the very least he royally ****ed up the hearing and what he said up at Boro. He needs to go, full stop. Someone needs to be held accountable and he's probably the likeliest to be fired.

Duncan Holley's posts are obviously leaning towards protecting his friend and the manager but IMO welcome nevertheless. It's actually quite refreshing to hear from someone with apparent insider knowledge giving a more positive outlook. It still may not have the desired affect once their version of events is made public and of course the FA will probably make any truce between fans and club immaterial.

I do though believe the story about Parsons approaching Gibson trying to smooth the water. I don't think it was arrogance, as he's been accused of, but more likely ignorance (naive at best) to not know who he was dealing with and to think it would placate the little ****.

Really good to read those posts tbf..

I was definitely on the Parson hate train at one point when the meeting with Gibson was leaked post appeal, but feel it was reactionary on my part for sure and not my usual reaction.

The point of exaggeration of each and every detail is something I have fully believed from the minute this started getting released. I know a trial by media when I see one.. Obviously this is someone else's perspective but nice to finally see someone measured weigh in..
