Chat thread seen as there's no footy on TV.

Work for me but should be finished by dinnertime. Planning a run later. Casa Rosa in Birtley are doing BOGOF on pizzas and I promised the bairn pizza for tea. They make the best pizzas in the area :emoticon-0103-cool:

Got my Mum's birthday next month stuff all brought and wrapped (coz im the fav child), then my dad's 70th in July

why are men so difficult to buy for!

Me dad has had the same Bday/Xmas wishlist for the pass 20+ years, when you tell him that the item is no longer for sale, "why not, thats just an excuse"

because the rack you want for car is A no longer avaiable for the model and B YOU DONT HAVE THAT CAR ANYMORE!

or "the SAFC shorts from the 00/01 season"...

end of rant

Afternoon all.
No classes this afternoon as the Grade 12 have left and the grade 11 are on study leave, but I can't go and have to sit here and plan for next week and the last week of term, which I have already done.

Worst bit of news I got this week was Gordon going to Barca.
Think I'll have to listen to Jilted John to calm myself down. (If you know, you know)
Have a great afternoon all.

My wife is hopeless at presents, usually ends up secretly given away to charity but my daughter is brilliant.

Depends what your dad is into , if for instance country western sort of stuff Sheplers for shirts, belts etc.

If hoodies, Sunderland have some good ones for sale.

Socks are boring

Some amusing tee shirts riffing on age?

Ps check his size!

If he enjoys reading a kindle?

We're easy man woman man, unless he's one of those weird teatotallers alcohol is always the answer, anything from 8 ace to a posh single malt depending on budget and taste.
as its his 70th, want to get a Big present

for his 50th we got a SAFC with 50 on ( he wasnt impressed)
for his 60th we got a laptop ( it broke)

got him vouchers for somewhere, they went out of date

might just get a keg of Fullers London Pride ( if I can)

Disagree....men are easy to buy for when asked what I wanted for my 70 th the daughters were mortified when I asked for 2 large plastic garden containers to store my tools....they did ask and bless them they got them for me.
I've asked for whisky for the last 20 years or so.... Easy pleased that I am.

My Dad was the same. Father's Day was easy in Euros or World Cup years, as I would just buy a "supporters kit" - box of assorted beers, crisps, nuts and chocolate. Rest of the time, it was hard to think of gifts for him.

What about one of the legends stones?

I got my Dad a stadium brick for one of his milestone birthdays and he was over the moon with it.

Another birthday, we'd been to York Railway Museum and they were doing a major overhaul on Sir Nigel Gresley (one of his favourite engines). I sponsored one of the pipes in the engine as his gift. He was thrilled with that and told everyone about his pipe every time he the engine was mentioned :emoticon-0102-bigsm

Yeah I’ll buy something like that and get grief as he wants to choose which one
